That's not strictly true. You can also travel in Suites if you are cabin crew on that flight - on my one and only R flight, various cabin crew made dens in the empty suites.

I would rather go on a 744 than a 380 any day. Reasons are - 747 has exclusive cabin; A380 allows tourists to wander in from other cabins to have a look. The food is the same. The lounge is the same. The seat on a 744 is more adjustable and more comfortable. You can see other people. The service is better and more attentive on a 744. The cabin looks and feels nicer and more spacious on a 744. Window seats on a 744 are near enough to the window to see out. Burgundy is a nicer colour than gold.

Well said, Mr H. The 744s will be missed!

That is because the crew rest area have some mulfunction that the crew are not able to have proper rest. As a result, empty suites can be used.

How fortunate, then, that they were on a plane with suites - how would they ever have managed on a 747?

And I wonder where the other cabin crew members went for their rest... It seemed to be the same three cabin crew members throughout the flight.

They still have not returned my call...but I have to agree with EWR I don't think they will budge on this...

Will call them again for one last try...it is so bad how SQ treat its customers with such contempt while putting on a facade of top notch service. This is true in the air as I've always had very nice flights on SQ but their KrisFlyer is just a total joke run by robotic people.

Finally spoke to them and they say their decision is final - no travel in suites. They are willing only to request business class on the A380. The new business class just looks crap and not worth the points they charge.

I think I will just ask for all my points back and use these for TG and OZ flights in the future.

Do you guys think it's worth writing a letter to Mr Yap Kim Wah who is SQ's Senior VP Product+Services - I highly doubt he would even get it or probably even bother reading it. I don't know which fax number to send it to.

I think you'll get a standard canned reply, actually. You might, actually you WILL, get more of a reply if you write an 'open letter' to both them and the Straits Times/Today/every other public newspaper.

If they're offering Biz on A380, are they charging you still the same mileage? Or equivalent of Biz Standard?

That must be your frustration speaking.

My suggestion is not to write to the gentleman as it is a waste of good time. I guessed they must be charging you double the mileage for that A380 Biz class seat. Look at whether TG or Oz has availability first before canceling your booking. By canceling you might be working to their benefit. Like what they say, best to vote with your wallet.

I would have suggested writing to Business Traveller magazine but they've got them in their pocket so they don't print many letters criticising SQ.

OK here is the conclusion to this awful experience with KrisFlyer...

I've cancelled the booking and got my 105K miles back...I really couldn't be bothered - it was just too stressful dealing with KrisFlyer.

I am now booked with QF on their suites A380.

...thanks again for all your suggestions and encouragment - it was greatly appreciated.

I hope you find ways to dispose of your 105k miles though. Otherwise, they would have achieved their goal of getting your business in the past, without you having a chance to use the credit (basically) that you have accumulated.

Chew Choon Seng is the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Airlines. Complaints to his attention definitely get attention, especially if they are for a reason.

Write to him about your disappointment and that this let to your cancellation and include a copy of your new booking on Qantas. You will have a response in less than ten days.

                                Address is:
                                Airline House
                                25 Airline Road
