I don't know - i'm not all that excited about it. Why? It's one of those things I can look but can't touch, so I'm strangely ambivalent about it. I suspect I'd be a bit more excited if I was closer to achieving it than I am now.

I certainly won't be personally shelling out for R class anytime soon. But I can live in hope of the Op-Up, or the business-critical meeting in London tomorrow and the only seat available being R...

Very good article on Airbus and SQ's logistics planning here:

        http://www.flightglobal.com/articles...ice-entry.html

During early operations, the Airbus and SIA engineering teams will hold three daily meetings - one in Sydney and one in Singapore each about 1.5h before the aircraft lands, to assess any critical tasks required to be sure it can depart on time, and a third conference call in Toulouse between the key "stakeholders" at SIA and Airbus to review all the critical items, chaired by Mhun. "We'll do this until we achieve an acceptable level of reliability from our customer's standpoint," he says.

I think the suites look great. I have to admire it, even if I'm unlikely to get to try it out in the near future, just because the aesthetics and features seem very well thought out and executed.

I can't wait for the first reports of the actual experience.

I just read the article and it is amazing how much efforts both SIA and Airbus puts into ensuring smooth operations. Airbus seems to learns from their past mistakes and hopefully, the A350 will be able to have smooth entry in the future.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say. So I agree we need to wait until we get some trip reports in.

I kinda hope they rubbish them as if they are very possitive then it is going to be so tempting to try and save up to have a go in one.

I think they look amazing, I cant wait for my trip in F on 29th June on the 317, hope it is on that route by then, I'm heading back on the 322 on 14th July so fingers crossed. I must say though although they look very nice does anyone else agree with me that when the skysuite was launched 12 odd years ago it was truly in a class of it's own..... The suites..... well we'll have to wait and see.

R suites are now available on SQ website. OMG! These suites truly look nice. They are impressive. The beds look very comfortable just because for the first time ever, they are the real stuff.

That's not too bad... ex. Switzerland it's close to US$ 22k...

But the suites def. look great

I just hope the bed is long enough for people like me The new first class bed on their 77W is rather on the short side for me and at 185cm I'm not really tall...

                    • The new bed now is 1.98 meters long. So, you should be OK. Also, this is a real bed so it will be very comfortable.

                      • the bed for first seems smaller the biz right?

                        • This definitely looks like the best First class hardware out there, but I'm not crazy about the brown-heavy palette.

Now what I really want to know... does Economy get more pitch compared to the 77W? It looks pretty generous in the videos but one can get fooled by camera angles.

                          • Yup, the Suites look great! Seems like a different set of amenity kits for R class as well.
