A proportion of the people who can afford the premium fare can spend it regularly. Even among those who can't, the luxury can create a more open mindset. You'd be surprised how sociable people can get when they're relaxed, tanked up on expensive liquor, enjoying marvellous service for several hours, and know that they're in a cabin with like-minded people.

Have you tried to strike up a casual conversation in a business or first class cabin? It's remarkably easier than in Y, unless the person is attending to some preparations for a meeting. IME, the initial barriers are higher, but they get lowered more quickly.

Hopefully, most will take their suit with them when they leave their suite.

Nothing I've seen or read so far indicates that the service level will be any different ?

        • Isnt there a divider for the suits? I mean theres gotta be something that comes out or down to ensure your in your own little room. I can see this little handle on top of the suits but how can a full screen come out of that little bar?

I too have the same question about service and the f&b in the suite section. Will that be beyond P Class?

I am already eliminated by the cost hurdle to qualify for R Class so will depend on SQTalk for the answers.

              Remember, there's no soundproofing!

Then again, I can already imagine there will be some naughty young couples who will attempt to do a quickie, to whichever extent you can think of, behind closed doors. Silently of course.

From the SQ website and other sources:

The ICP made new dishes and also SIA favorites are being served. Only the best "gastronomic delights" that SQ have will be options for Suites pax. Special touches have been used on the Suites serviceware that will be a bit better than normal 77W F.The amenity kits will still be ferragamo+givenchy but will be new and enhanced compared to normal F. If I'm not wrong 1 extra SQ girl will be put in cabin. There are also special transportable wooden tables that will be used to serve breakfast in bed on request that are seperate from normal dining table. The wine list will also include things that will not be in normal F, and only the best of the SQ cellars will be put onboard. So yes, the service will be upped for the Suites; its an all-around new class, not just some F+ class. And for the product, seriously, think about it. It's a bed and a seperate seat, that is a first for modern airlines.

Hmmm, where are the Red & Green Kebayas? I don't seem to see them around during the walkabout.

                  • As I'm not going to afford F (let alone the initial novelty-induced, maybe even long term, premium for the A380) on most airlines anytime soon I'd just patiently wait for the ability to redeem into one of these F cabins.

But by then another large plane would be debuting with even more luxurious fittings...

                    • I was hoping SQ would make private rooms for two in its new F offerings. Such rooms would have couches, a double bed, and other luxury travel items, and would have windows. SQ has fallen short.

Didn't know SQ was into hotel/property business

To make a double-pax suite would not be commercially viable to say the least....if they had only single pax travelling alone....then what?

The couple seats 3CD and 4CD (which can be single or double) are already good enough IMHO

I think the Singapore Girls are made to wear the blue kebaya regardless of their rank during PR events. Something about the blue being the icon - the colour you see in all the advertisements.

Was at their 50th anniversary celebration and all the crew who were there were wearing the blue kebayas but their nametags had their ranks on them.
