emperorsr, discussions on this forum mostly relate to SQ and its surroundings. Sure, there are many more important issues than the threads started here. But starting those threads do not mean that the person cares about that issue more than more serious issues like HIV/AIDS etc.
I think it is a bit unfair when one decide to make a snap judgement about a poster here just because he/she just watched something that touched or changed his/her own point of view on life.
And to answer your earlier question, this thread was obviously started in the spirit of humour.

geez. paraphrasing suze ormon, people first, then class of travel, then towels.
Jeez. Try stepping down from that soapbox to go look for your sense of humor.
You've completely misread the tone in the thread; misjudged the values of the posters (I know the OP, and I know he puts people first in his priorities); and missed the point of a travel forum (which is not to keep discussions solely on weighty matters).‘Lean into the sharp points’

SQ's hot towels are what I miss when I fly other airlines. I don't like those disposable wipes some airlines give out - not even individually packed but off a tray. I want to say it is LH but I can't be sure.
They used to have hot towels in the SKL F lounge - I think that's been discontinued? Can't remember anymore.

SQ's choice not to cut the towels out in economy class gives travelling on SQ an extra oomph right at the very beginning.‘Lean into the sharp points’

Cold towels, hot towels, lukewarm towels, thick towels, thin wet-wipes.... I'm just thankful that some airlines bother to give them out in all classes. They're always welcomed for people like me who end up sprinting to my gate7 out of 10 times I travel... give me a towel...any towel.
Someone should carry a thermometer with him/her everytime he/she boards an SQ flight and take the temperature of the towels, plot a chart and show it to SQ management if it really shows that hot towels are no longer hot anymore!!I'm sure SQ will then launch a marketing campaign highlighting the wonders of a 'refreshing towel, that isn't too hot or too cold, to wipe away the stress of a long day and prepare you for a great flight ahead...Singapore Airlines...room temperature towels that even other airlines talk about'

Going back to the topic... I do not get why the hot towels have to be SO HOT! I don't mind a hot towel like anyone else but it'd be nice if they were just lukewarm rather than scaldingly hot. Actually... do any airlines give out ice towels? That'd be really cool!

Originally posted by jhmThe GF flight was a short 45-minute hop on a 2-class A320-200. J was configured as four rows of 2-2 seating with comfortable seats with 40+ inches of pitch. The crew was from all over the world, e.g. Bahrain (obviously!), Greece, the Philippines etc. Like the seat, GF's service and meal on such a short flight put BA's Club Europe service (the duration being something like BA CE LHR-CDG with a cold salad) to shame - as well as a pre-departure drink, newspapers and a choice of hot or cold towel (a proper towel rather than the flimsy toilet cloths which BA use), I had the following menu
[ grilled lamb koftas - yum!]

If you don't notice thing, because you said it's just a tiny matter, not looking at the big picture, perhaps you have to look back at your "boss or leadership" ability. Look, just an example, which I don't know whether you can relate on this, since perhaps you have lived well off since you were born.
A small restaurant in the neighborhood. Having lunch almost everyday there. I notice something tiny has changed. For example, only one pickle in the sandwich. Being a regular customer, certainly I would notice it. Thus, I could make a conversation with the owner, perhaps biz had been tough, thus make it saving here and there.
In the case of the hot towels, I don't know how many hot towels I had for the past 7 years flying on SQ. Thus a slight change can get noticed by me right away. I don't complain. But at least, the lurker from SQ would know that there is an inconsistency in the tiny weeny part of onboard service.
Another example, you think I am complaining because the satay was served in a small circular plate instead of the large rectangular one? No. It's an input that there is a problem.
And do you know that my cushion thread that showing pictures of the cushion flying off while landing, it led to someone to notice that the crew was not aware that the divider in 77W HAS to be down upn taking off and landing. Thus, security, safety and quality control can gain from what you called a tiny matter.
