Plenty of demand from HKG? The protests have been going for many months and the demand have dropped a lot during that period.Originally posted by yuuka_miya View PostA part of me wonders whether SKN could be pressed into service for flights to HKG - I expect plenty of demand from there especially given recent happenings.
So now the demand is back due to the new law? Can HKG ppl come to Singapore in the first place?

hmmm doubt so as Scoot have been flying to HKG using its 787 and its load factor is still poor with reported only about 50 - 60 pax on average. Think if any A380s were to fly, it would be SIN-LHR-SIN when UK opens up to Singapore and perhaps the earliest time would be in mid Nov/DecLast edited by flyguy; 4 July 2020, 10:22 AM.

With SKN finally emerges as a ver 3 making it a total of 8 A380s ver 3, t will be interesting to see whether any more older A380s will be converted to ver 3. Doubt SIA will be operating all 19 A380s even post covid19.

I would be surprised if Qantas reactivate all these aircraft in the long ran, if they store at ASP and decide to scrap them they would have to get them back up to flying condition only to fly them to Mojave anyway.Originally posted by flyguy View PostQantas likely will moved all of its 12 A380s to Mojave as it would be easier for them to look after and maintain all in one spot and as these planes will be parked for at least 2 years till 2023. Only thing is many operators who are parking their A380s for a year or more, may by possibly just retire them as they will find the new twins much more efficient to operate at lower costs. Apparently 2 A350s or 787s can fly to the same destination as a A380 at even a much lower cost.
