On with the trip report.
In the Concorde room came an announcement that BA-175 was now boarding at gate 4. We strolled over at a brisk pace, though I am not sure CGK was walking quite in a straight line...
Getting on board was no problem, though unlike our beloved SQ (still beloved even if not everything has been perfect on this trip), BA does not use a separate gate for F and J passenger. So we had to wait in line behind a lot of passengers before boarding and being escorted to our seats, 5E and 5F.
There, CGK told me "WOW! This seat is HUGE!". I started wondering if:- CGK was still under the influence of the gin and tonics from the night before.
- my vision was suddenly impaired and I saw things much narrower than they really are.
- CGK was already in a total state of denial
I have ordered a post-flight visit to a shrink for CGK and one to the optometrist for me so that we can determine if 2 or 3 are the cause. If these explanations are dismissed, we will have to deduce by elimination that 1 is the true cause...
CGK's table had trouble deploying but that gave us a added excuse to do buddy dining and he came to the ottoman of my seat to have dinner together. That is one feature I wish SQ's new seat had.
Lunch was pretty good. Lobster and soup for my appetizer and CGK took one more, adding a salad to the list. For main course, I had a lemon sole with a red bell pepper sauce and he had a beef. It was good but the presentation is not as refined as on SQ.
Given the short night we had before, we both put our BA provided sleeping suits. Mine was large, but the pants' legs are extra extra extra long. Kind of doubling into slippers as well and then some. Not sure if the average length of British legs is 1m longer than the average Belgian one, but if it is, I had not notice prior to this flight and will have to make an investigation.
We both slept for most of the flight and only woke up when passing over Montreal. Had a few sandwiches and then landed.
It's always good to be in F when deplaning. I made it first to the US passport and PR line and I think CGK must have been number 2 or 3 in the visitor line. We both got through quickly and had to wait for our luggage for another 15 minutes or so.
Unfortunately, because I did not get a connection from SFO to DEN on time, we are separating here and I am flying on DL through CVG to DEN and CGK is on UA ps service to SFO.
He messaged me that UA gave him an op up to first in the spacebed like seats (sure a good reason for him to start a SQ does not love me anymore but UA does thread)! Wishing him a good flight to SFO before he starts his reverse RTW through SQ333 J flight! Will miss you, CGK! Enjoy! and let us know how it is!
PS: post some pics of the BA flight on here for us.

I am also eager to know how many pillows will SQ provide to the F passengers. It looks like CGK had at least 3.Last edited by UMD; 10 December 2006, 05:38 PM.

It was a fun and memorable trip with you from SFO to JFK via Pacific and Atlantic. Thank you for showing me Paris.
Lastly, let me know any photo program that I can download for free to reduce the size of the pics I took, including the BA ones.
Cheers,
CGK
