  • To those getting upset, what's the point? It's really not SQ's fault that they have to have a few A380's out of service at the moment.

Just be glad you are not stranded anywhere and that your flight is operating at all. In comparison, initially Qantas had people stuck in LA for days over this with loads of flights cancelled.

    • Because of the lack of communication from SQ
Because of the disregard for the Australian market
Because SQ are still taking bookings for A380 flights when they are clearly not operating

For an airline that everyone seems to rave about, they really don't know how excel in customer service.

Qantas have managed to update their website so when you make a booking for MEL/SYD to LAX it shows 747's and not A380's.

Yet SQ is happy to sell A380 flights still

Well what do you suggest they operate into Australia - or should pull aircraft off other routes that are twice as long? A flight from SIN to MEL is 6.5 hours in the air usually, barely time for a nap between meals, I know id rather have the better product on the long haul from SIN to Europe.

        • Agree with the longer flights demanding the better product, I have no problem with that.

However, they should correctly update their website

Imagine if someone books a Suite..... and ends up on the 777-300's.

If the 777's had the upgraded interiors it wouldn't be as bad, but the older products just look terrible!

Ah, it's just a different F product, they've been flying around with about 4 different ones for years so nothing new there.

I agree their communication during this episode has not been good enough. I know it's been an awkward and very fluid situation for them and it can't have been easy, but it could and should have been better.

Thanks for the information. My flight, SQ227, has been switched to 773 aircraft. I've checked my booking on SQ's website. Would like to know if the 73A's would be operating this route.

                Thanks

Phew. I'm in R SIN-MEL on the 17-DEC-10. I would not have been a happy bunny with 777-300.

For what date ? I don't believe the 73A's are operating to MEL at the moment.

                    • Sweet, I am on the SQ222 and had EmEx seats on the A380, so hopefully I should retain those. Excellent.

I'm flying on the 10th of December. I checked the SQ website and i got the Layout 2 for the B773. From what i read, it's the old interior right?

                        Thanks!
