I actually intended to ask already, but I see them writing vouchers for all the pax already, so I already guess they will be giving it out to us.

Not clear what you mean. As AVOD setup is part of the experience of the flight, compensation by miles should be more practical and tangible then just giving Krishop vouchers.

On 2nd thought, you had a point. Maybe extra Krisflyer miles for KF members and krishop vouchers for non-KF members.

Does this happen often, especially this on the whale jet? If it is, SQ losing big bucks, imagine USD 100 for each pax.
Were you flying Y, J or R and how did you find out what the compensation was in other classes?

There is a similar thread posted on SQTalk from last year.

On one of my F flights last year (LAX-NRT), krisworld was unavailable for the whole flight and each F pax received USD200 compensation toward krishop. I don't know what was give to J and Y pax on that flight.

SQ may have different compensation amounts for each COS.

          cheers.

If someone gets say 5k miles then there is a good chance they will go to waste (eg any not a krisflyer member or who is an infrequent flyer).

Much better to have something that everyone can benefit from - hence cash or duty free voucher.

I would agree with this, although it would be nice to have a choice!
