I would agree with this, although it would be nice to have a choice!

Does this happen often, especially this on the whale jet? If it is, SQ losing big bucks, imagine USD 100 for each pax.
Were you flying Y, J or R and how did you find out what the compensation was in other classes?

There is a similar thread posted on SQTalk from last year.

    http://www.sqtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5860

On one of my F flights last year (LAX-NRT), krisworld was unavailable for the whole flight and each F pax received USD200 compensation toward krishop. I don't know what was give to J and Y pax on that flight.

SQ may have different compensation amounts for each COS.

    cheers.

On 2nd thought, you had a point. Maybe extra Krisflyer miles for KF members and krishop vouchers for non-KF members.

I actually intended to ask already, but I see them writing vouchers for all the pax already, so I already guess they will be giving it out to us.

one must ask and even demand for compensation esp in EY or in any classes through the CSS or IFS; if its not forthcoming and the IFE is down for 80% of the time.

Yesterday with CA J, the screened movie was Painted Skin (no AVOD, let alone personal video) there was video but no sound... they blamed it on the VCD manufacturer after offering to re-insert said VCD (looked like a tape).

I was 'compensated' with a nice smile and a bottle of Xidarun distilled water. The back-to-basics generosity was most refreshing!

Since the stewardess was so sincere and had such a wonderful smile, I didn't mind.

    That is pretty generous compensation.

Flying QF F SYD-SIN in June my seat's IFE was broken. No spare seat to move to. While I did get some duty free compensation it wasn't as generous.
