  • A380 to HKG Krisworld faulty, pax get USD 100 inflight voucher

My flight on 6 Aug on A380 to HKG, the Krisworld was faulty 20 mins after take off, each pax (Y, J & Suites) get USD 100 inflight customer care voucher for duty free items.

Does this happen often, especially this on the whale jet? If it is, SQ losing big bucks, imagine USD 100 for each pax.

Krisworld failed on my flight HKG-SIN on the 744 last year for about half an hour perhaps and we got nothing. They did manage to fix the problem though.

It would be more meaningful if they give out complimentary Krisflyer Miles instead. Most of Krishop items doesn't interest me.

Also on the 777-300ER from London to Singapore in early June for the whole flight. No vouchers or miles. Barely an apology. It was a very long flight.

            LHR,

You can write in to SQ if there is any compensation. I actually tried it before, and they gave me a USD 100 inflight duty free voucher as well.

It happened to me on SQ11 last year, but only for half hour. Crew had to do a live safety demo. They gave me a pen, and also gave me an item on Krisshop that I was going to buy for free.

Presuming every pax is a Krisflyer Member and interested in miles?

Well, it will be an excellent opportunity for SQ to promote the benefits of it's Krisflyer program to non-Krisflyer pax and ask them to join

                        That is pretty generous compensation.

Flying QF F SYD-SIN in June my seat's IFE was broken. No spare seat to move to. While I did get some duty free compensation it wasn't as generous.
                        ..

That's a terrible idea. Low value and high risk of being orphaned (= nil value) for many passengers.

Yesterday with CA J, the screened movie was Painted Skin (no AVOD, let alone personal video) there was video but no sound... they blamed it on the VCD manufacturer after offering to re-insert said VCD (looked like a tape).

I was 'compensated' with a nice smile and a bottle of Xidarun distilled water. The back-to-basics generosity was most refreshing!

Since the stewardess was so sincere and had such a wonderful smile, I didn't mind.

one must ask and even demand for compensation esp in EY or in any classes through the CSS or IFS; if its not forthcoming and the IFE is down for 80% of the time.
