Looking at the pictures, I see a full 4 wheel boggie in the grass and, though it does not show fully, what I think is 5 wheels of a 6 wheel boggie in the grass as well...Originally posted by zvezda View PostIt's a good thing not all six wheels of the body-gear bogey are in the grass. It would have sunk in a lot deeper had they been.

That's correct - the last picture shows the 3 axles clearly. That's the 6 wheel body gear bogie. So Aunty SKA had at least 8-10 of her 20 toes on the grass.Originally posted by DeltaFlyingProf View PostLooking at the pictures, I see a full 4 wheel boggie in the grass and, though it does not show fully, what I think is 5 wheels of a 6 wheel boggie in the grass as well...

Passengers does not know when they walk down from the aircraft?Originally posted by TurnLeft ThankYou! View PostThe 380 was grounded today after a tug that was towing it "heavy" lost hydrolics and backed her onto grass.
Passengers were transfered to a 747 for the flight to SYD.
Inspections are presently under way, but as present no known damage has been found.
The 380 is expected to return to flying tommorow.
It is unknown wether compensation will be paid to those who had paid premium fares in "R" class for the suites over the "F" seats passengers were transfered to.
There were no injuries, and passengers were unaware of any problems.
Hard to believe.
SIA spokeman say they have file a police record. Believe it can only be back to service after investigation.

Just flew SQ116 SIN-KUL, and she was queued up behind us for take-off on runway 02L. So would have been airborne just after 1730. [Couldn't be sure, but maybe no pax on board?]
Incidentally, I'm sure I could see another 380 parked at T3 as we lifted off.
Has SKB been delivered this afternoon?
Just a test flight lah.

With the accident and putting the aircraft out of service for a day will probably mean someone is getting the chop. I wondered who is providing the service? My guess is probably the airport authority and it was probably outsourced to another company.
SQ is also outsourcing many of their formerly inhouse services and heard some complaints from SQ staff about the quality of their service providers. Value can be destroyed with the wrong partners!

haha...
let me jus confirm wif u guys since i got some first hand info.
after changing 4 tyres, SKA went for a test flight. and returned to service the very next day, 24 hrs after the incident.
SIA Engineering Company and SATS are the first to maintain, service SQ's A380. however, first to maintain, first to eat grass.
haha... i suppose insurance will pay for most of the losses... it's hard to say.
today as i was working close to the runway, i was lucky enough, to see SKB landing right infront of me. it's gone for crew training...
so yeah.. the reason airplane brakes not applied as the tow tug is towing is bcuz if it was... then more damage could have incurred to the nose landing gear, it might collapse.
part of the towpin was sheared...life long learning == learn later
ASU here i come!!!
