SKA has spent so much of its life in maintenance and is said to be significantly heavier than other A380s. I can't see why anyone would want it until the rest of the yard is empty.

I guess they could also be looking into doing some modifications to address the issues/complaints from the original product.

The first complete refit of an A380 will take a lot of planning and work, so I suspect that could be part of it. They might not be refitting just yet but a lot of preparatory work might need to be done and this could be bundled together with a major check.

im sure it will. SKA-SKE are the ones leaving for sure.
nonetheless, the longest for heavy maintenance generally has been 3 months. even retrofitting max 3 months. it's 4+ now. suggests some repair could be going on.

Was this an operational change? As i thought it’s meant to be on the new J and new Suites?

Yup, as mentioned in post #820.

    http://www.hifly.aero/en/a380/9h-mip.html

Though now it does not seem like -SKA and/or -SKB will be going to HiFly as the entries for MSN 0003 and 0005 are not reflected anymore. Perhaps they'd take either -SKD or -SKE.

They have a total of 2 A380s on order at present.

It looks like SQ237/228, which are normally operated by a 77WR have gotten an A380 this past Saturday and even today. I don't remember this being scheduled via routesonline or any other source.
