    Reduced Flights Through Mid-June

I can't believe this is happening again. SQ has zeroed out availabilities through mid-June for SQ27/28 on Mon/Thu/Sat. The system is probably in the process of cancelling those flights. What is SQ thinking?

      Very strange....

i spoke with my pps coordinator today- she said that the 77W will be pulled until next oct the earliest. this is terrible, especially since they rose fares twice in the past 6 months in conjunction with the 77W's introduction, and you can be sure those fares will not be going back to their previous levels even though a far inferior plane will be going back to every day service.

Yes taipeiflyer airfares are going up and probably will take some time to come down. I was reading the local business papers that Asian air travel plane load factor is not expected to rise with more passenger seats available and with the subprime affecting business travel. So I think it will be flat for a while and might even come down later on.

Happy Holiday, taipeiflyer. Higher fare, older plane, less frequency, I don't understand SQ. The GDS shows 4x weekly until June, not daily, but still showing 77W after March. Do you have more updated information?

yes terryk...my info was just from yesterday. my pps coordinator was in the states on vacation and we got together and had hot chocolate. she informed me about the unfortunate news, and said that had just received the information a couple of days ago. best wishes to you and your family terryk- hope you are enjoying a wonderful holiday.

                  Hi all,
It seems you have much better connections with SQ and I would really appreciate the information!
I am booked on SQ28 on 09 April 08 in F. One of the main reasons for me booking that flight is the 77W with the new F.
Now I see in the SQ web site that even though many dates on April does not have SQ28 AT ALL, on the 09 of April the 77W is still there...
Do you have more information regarding April (Will really appreciate the help as SQ are not really helping me out here),
If the SQ28 flight is canceled and I already have a ticket - Will the reroute me?
How is the 772 F class? Compared to 77W?
Thanks a lot for your information and keeping my fingers crossed for the 77W to stay and wait for me :-)

hello ysmisc, and welcome to sqtalk. i am told that the 77W will be taken off of the route beginning mid-jan, and will be deployed elsewhere until at least next oct. i am not sure what will happen with your F booking... most of the people at SQ have not even received the info regarding the pulling of the 77W until that time. i was the first customer informed of the changes.

They will certainly try to rebook you on to another service which has F - so if you're flying SIN-LAX you can be accommodated on SQ12, a 744 service via NRT. If you're simply flying to TPE there's SQ872, a 772-operated service with regional F seating.

Merry Christmas to you too sir. I guess for LAX-TPE pax - either an involuntary downgrade, or rebooking on to another carrier with F.

                                Thanks for all your replies!

Unfortunately I am doing an MR on those dates, thus I am arriving around 08:00 to SIN that day and departing on the same day to TPE, so I will not be able to catch to SQ872 since I arrive too late to SIN.
Does any one of you have (probably bad) experience with re-routing? Do they only re-route to another SQ flight or will they re-route to *A or to any carrier?

Also, since the SQ28 was supposed to be a DAILY flight to LAX does it not mean that there were actually 2 (or more) 77W birds assigned to this route? So my last hope is that they pulled only one of them :-) :-)

merry Christmas and again thanks for your help, REALLY appreciated!
