It looks like there's an issue with 9V-SWK in Melbourne. SWU which operated SQ237 actually turned back as SQ238 instead of the intended SQ228.

However, SQ228 is delayed for almost 7 hours til 11:30PM and only expected to arrive at 4:10AM.

A heavily delayed SQ228 on 21DEC is going to create more than a few headaches for SQ. That plane would be packed solid with people connecting to other flights at SIN, all of which will be missed.

SQ228 | 21DEC is renumbered SQ9228, and is rescheduled to depart at 5:30PM (about 25 hours late). Yeah and on top of that we're in the Holiday Season now.

On the other hand, SQ227 | 21DEC got 9V-SWT, which I thought was actually going in for a refit after its last flight from MNL as SQ917 on Wednesday.

EDIT: 9V-SWT seems to most likely be out for a retrofit after its arrival as SQ825 from PVG on Sunday 12/23

Hopefully not an AOG problem but the weather I heard was a major rain storm and windy.

I think because of the SQ228 delay, quite a few knock on effects for 77WR routes:

SQ828/831 got 9V-SYL instead of a regular 77WR.
SQ636/631 according to iCargo (subject to change) will be operated with a 773 tonight instead of a 77WR.

I think it's because of the MEL issue with SWK but also we have two other 77WR unavailable (SWA and SWB for now at least).

Actually 9V-SKT turned back over the Bay of Bengal closer to the Indian coast. It was airborne from SIN at 0017 and landed back at 0624.
