I'm still waiting for them to call me in 2-3 weeks time with regards to my flight options in November (as per KF contact center). This is due to SQ is trying to get confirmation from other Star Alliance flights to rebook those confirmed GRU flights.

Hard for the SIN-SFO route to sustain two competitors non-stop, although code sharing between SQ and UA would help! UA has already applied for blanket code sharing with SQ and the SQ code will be put on some UA flights from IAH for feed for SQ61/62 which doesn't seem to be doing too well with the energy crisis!

Maybe a joint venture for transpacific routes between both will optimize schedules and increase benefits for passengers? Quite surprised how much expansion the A350 is already being used for especially considering the conservative growth at SIA mainline over the past few years...

      Exciting times for SIA ahead

        Such a bummer ....
Booked the seemingly error J class fare SCL-GRU-SIN-COK of $1.5K on Monday and now the bulk of the sectors has been cancelled not even 3 days after that.

I wonder what Sq is going to do about my booking, they will certainly make massive loss to pay JJ or AV to reroute us via Europe.

They are now selling GRu-SIN via London and Paris with very inconvenient connections - 6hr minimum or overnight. I think most traffic from S.America will prefer MidEast hubs now.

ANA and UA already have a joint venture, which pretty much rules out anything along those lines.

Better call them. I did even before the SQ16 I was originally booked was cancelled and I was notified via email. I immediately requested SQ8 as replacement, but they put me on A333 first before confirming SQ8 today. To be honest, these changes are causing slight unnecessary inconvenience for me. I cannot bear to be put into waitlist and always avoid waitlist altogether.

I went to ION they refer me to KFCC. I called KFCC, they said a representative will call in 2-3 weeks time.

They started calling you? I don't mind having a stopover at FRA and going on LH since I have a stopover in BCN initally.

No. My ticket is for next May. Plenty of time to enjoy the show.

I prefer LH also, less connecting time in GRu and in FRA, but that's premium heavy sector for SQ.

Are you on the same fare as I am (from SCL) ?

Because they may just decide to refund these tickets

They should have done that long ago. ICN-LAX made more sense than ICN-SFO. The Korean community is larger in LAX than SFO.
We put labels on people and fight wars over them. If we truly want harmony, we have to get past the labels.

Well maybe SQ can get in on the JV by joining ANA and UA, which defeats the purpose then of its SFO and LAX one stops since ANA can offer the same. I see a bit of potential though since SIA anyways stops over in NRT for its LAX flights. Wishful thinking I know...

SQ codeshares with NH now to ORD, JFK & IAD.

I know SQ may never do this, but I wonder what the odds as far as demand go that SQ will do SIN-TPE-SFO (With a 77WR possibly) since there has been no SIN-TPE-LAX and vv anymore? Probably the fact they chose to not have 3 daily flights like LAX did at one point of time and two seems to be enough for travelers. Aftee all SFO is a major Star Alliance hub and then it comes down to 5th freedom from TPE-SFO by SQ.

Very low, especially since BR is a Star Alliance member now. They alone do two 77Ws daily to SFO. UA operates a daily 787-9, too. That's just on *A; over at SkyTeam CI has a daily 77W as well. There wouldn't be a lot of 5th freedom traffic since the route is already so well served.

If there's more demand on SIN-LAX they could always just return the A380 to the SIN-NRT-LAX route.

I'm on J class redemption ex-SIN. I will not take refund as an answer as I have other flights and accommodations booked within Brazil/Peru/Chile. So I will be grateful if they can reroute me via any of the *A flights other than SAA. Hahaha

Hmm, I was looking at either LAX or SFO in J or F/R (redemption). J would be fine, but R would be a bonus. Now LAX is no longer A380, guess R is out and with F having like 4 seats per flight? It makes only easily redeemable for J.
