The meals on Beijing flights are really bad. The breakfast on SQ 801 was crap. Well...when your competition is Air China and in the same alliance...and the food they serve isn't really good...what do you expect...

I thought the dessert is missing too.Originally posted by ycp81 View PostCheese and crackers from the International choice and Chinese snack from the Oriental choice are apparently removed. More cost-cutting in action.
I had to spit out some chicken and left my food uneaten in First Class for the first time ever on a recent Shanghai flight. I feel bad about leaving premium food uneaten but it was too much of a disaster to swallow.Originally posted by zilchster View PostThe meals on Beijing flights are really bad. At least the food from my latest flight from Nagoya to Singapore (which is just yesterday) is still not too bad.
Still have cold soba (in addition to hot entree) from the Japanese selection, and Haagen Dazs ice cream as dessert.
Anyway, there's always instant noodles which you can request for, if you are still hungry/not satisfied with the meal.

Food served on those SQ flights from Japan is generally higher quality than other flight.Originally posted by orionmiz View PostAt least the food from my latest flight from Nagoya to Singapore (which is just yesterday) is still not too bad.

Will SQ just distribute a bun (or just a pack of drink) on those short haul flights to SEA countries in the future?

believe they have limited quantities in their drystore cart; but every flight should have. For short flights like BKK, crew might be reluctant to serve as they are already so busy hence they might tell you not available? TPE should have.Originally posted by orionmiz View PostGoing to Dubai on Jan and Taipei on Feb on SIA on Y. Shall see how's the inflight meal going to be like.
Just asking, do they stock up instant noodles on flights to Taipei, Bangkok, etc.?

I remembered it was difficult to get instant noodles on flights to Australia, if you are hungry, they can only supply you with nuts.Originally posted by orionmiz View PostGoing to Dubai on Jan and Taipei on Feb on SIA on Y. Shall see how's the inflight meal going to be like.

To dig out an old thread, did anyone noticed that the plastic/glass wine cup has disappeared from economy meal trays, at least on the regional sectors? Did not see it on my recent flight to DPS and a few days back, BKK as well.
And for quality of food, it really seems to depend on the catering station. Catering from BKK by TG Catering was way much better, both in quality and quantity, than the catering from SIN and many other stations. It has been a very long time since I had a really good meal in Y on SQ and BKK catering just nailed it as one of the best.

Awesome! Looking forward to my flight in June from Copenhagen, will definitely take pictures. The food on the flights from Copenhagen is usually good though.Originally posted by oxymoron1984 View PostSingapore Airlines voted best economy class inflight dining.
