Yes, they will as they intend to have those seats going to ZRH, and that city is served by a 380.

    • Oh my god! I can't believe my rotten luck! Currently on board SQ227, operated with 9V-SWA. Old 77W!!! And the exact aircraft I was on earlier this afternoon on SQ637.

No way!! That is the worst luck! You went from thinking you had both legs on a 77WN to getting the oldest 77W for both flights!

        Sorry to hear...

Yes it is!! It's so unbelievably disappointing, took SQ 228/7, 638/7, expecting to get 77WN for all 4 sectors, but only got it on SQ228. Well, I need to go to NRT again next week, but I think I'm better off flying with JAL instead to avoid another disappointment. So sorry for the rant.

Just fyi for 9V-SWA, beware of seat 1F, the Entertainment screen turns on automatically around every 10mins. Seat 1C also beware! Needs to get up first to recline the seat.

          • Is there a timeline for future 77WN deliveries, and is it known whether that type will be serving SQ15/16 in the future?

From mid-Jan '16, that route will have the refitted 4-class 77W

SQ 16/15: Sundays and Wednesdays ex-SIN effective 06 January 2016; 4x weekly (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday) from mid-February 2016; daily from 15 March 2016.

                Won't be a "77WN"; will be the re-configured 77W with PEY (77WT?)

                • Any idea what will SQ015 be using in May? 77W or 77WN? Just too many variations of the 777 birds now. It is so confusing.

Are we playing lottery with the birds here? Sounding like a certain airline *wink wink*

I am happy to see the consistency of products offered on the DEL and MEL routes with 1-2-1 layout on all flights.

                        Quite a news flash there!

MEL changes don't really surprise me- had thought for some time that SQ237/8 would be upgraded and that SQ207/8 was a good fit for the gaps between the 772ER flights to CPH/IST/JNB/FCO etc.

As much as I love 777s in general, the main negative is that as 237/8 loses the old, limited IFE product, 207/8 ends up gaining it instead, and unlike 237/8, I often fly those two flights.

Quite a win for J customers though- no more regional product on a 7.5 hour flight.

                        • So MEL gets 1 77E. The timing looks quite tight. Only IST, JNB and FCO can probably accommodate the 77E. CPH leaves too early. AMS has gone 77W.

Last summer JNB/IST saw purple cabins on some days of the week. Not sure how it changes with AMS going 77W. I think the new route to sacrifice the 77E if unavailable would be MEL with this change. On a side note, the CHC-SIN flight saw SVF today.

Nice that the redeye to PVG gets the 77W now and the Manila night stop doesn't have to get those non-AVOD 777

                          • Singapore – Hong Kong Operational aircraft changes for following flights:
                            SQ872/871 Airbus A330-300 replaces 777-200ER
                            SQ868/857 Boeing 777-300 replaces A330-300

The current SQ872 is operated by a retrofitted regional B772. Hence the "B777-200ER" posted on Airline Route might be just a retrofitted B772 as the website did not make any distinction between the long-haul configuration vs retrofitted regional configuration.

Well now you don't need to feel alone! I booked two flights that were supposed to be 77WN- SQ227 tonight and SQ228 in June. Tonight a late gate change dumps me back onto SWD that I flew in from FRA and in June my flight was changed to A380 a while back.

How often does one need to fly SQ to experience a "new" product that's called 2013?

                              • I was on SQ324 on J, served by 9V-SWO. A lot better than previously 9V-SVx.
