Same thing happens to me too, always ! I always try to join a queue that looks the shortest, but someone in front always holds me up (eg taking extra time to fill up an immigration form).

Since upright man resurrected this thread, I may as well add that I did try my luck with visiting the cockpit on this trip, both in SGN and SIN. And, as luck would have it -- again -- I got a flat NO.
