    Trip Report: Part 3

The powerhouse of the Boeing 777-200ER: One of the powerful Rolls Royce Trent 892 engines! Spin, spin, spin...

    In Malaysian airspace. Diving, anyone?

Mealtime! I had a BTC option -- Lamb Chops -- for brunch. Nice presentation, isn't it?

Close-up of the Lamb Chops. It was very good, with mint sauce and all. A pity I don't really appreciate lamb.

Dessert: Coconut panna cotta with tropical soup and tuile, whatever that is. Very tasty!

And a nice cup of cuppacino to round up the meal. Perfect!

Tis actually 58" on the spacebeds, but what's an inch between friends?

As for the nail polish, yes, you did indeed forget. The shade worn in my pics is "Malaga Wine" by O.P.I (IMHO, the best nail polish brand this side of Mars)

        Excellent report though!

            Trip Report: Part 4

The control for the Spacebed. I always love these seats when I fly in Raffles/Business Class. Wait till I have a chance to compare this with the New Business Class seats. And no, I don't like pillows.

Aerial view of Ho Chi Minh City. The aircraft had started its descent.

View of Tan Binh District (I hope I'm right) while we were on our final approach.

Welcome to the new International Terminal of Tan Son Nhat Airport!

The aerobridges offer awesome views of the tarmac! What more could I ask for?

My 9V-SVJ, as seen through the aerobridge window.

Great report so far, TheHighFlyer. BTW, how is the immigration queues at the new airport? Better?

                    Trip Report: Part 5

The vast and sterile-looking Passport Control area. I had refrained from taking any picture earlier, but couldn't resist sharing what I found with fellow SQTalkers. Still, I had to be very discreet. You don't want to challenge authority, especially when you're in a communist country!

                    The spacious Arrival Hall.

                    Baggage Claim area.

Another view of the Arrival Hall.

Taxi and car pick-up area, outside the Arrival Hall.

What better way to end this segment with something airline-related?

There were definitely more counters than in say, Phuket International. However, as luck would have it, I joined the queue that moved the slowest -- it always happens! This wasn't helped by the fact that I had already been delayed right in the beginning, owing to staying a little longer in the aerobridge. Anyhow, a new immigration counter opened up and those of us at the back flew over! Yah, I know this was unfair to those at the heads of our original queues.

I'm very impressed with the new airport. Very clean and modern looking. The old airport is far cry from this. Thanks The High Flyer for the pictures!
