Not an excuse. Have them take a picture of you, then post the pics here.
I've used the S90/95 and G11 (not had a chance to use the G12 yet), so those are what I'm comparing against... I'd have to PM them to you, as I left the last one behind in Tassie y'day - lemme know where you want them sent...

Thanks very much, nickbot! I've put about 30GB worth of photos through this baby ever since I got it almost a month ago now!

But the new Canon S95 is very attractive because it is more compact and has a built in lens cover. Not so good pics though ( I'm told by the boffins ).

            Haven't decided... LX5 vs S95
The S90 takes awesome pics, for a compact camera you will not be disappointed.

I'm holding off - a few reviews are saying the RX100 brings in better shots that are harder to get. If so, it'd be disappointing as the F1.4 lens on the LX7 was what I was really looking forward to.

The RX100 DEFINITELY will be better as it has a 1" sensor. That said, you can get a GX1 WITH the PowerX Zoom Lens for less than the Sony. Heck, you could get TWO S100s and shoot them for 3D and still have money left over.

Not a fan of the GX1, it's friggin massive. Compact is what I'm after and the LX-5 was about the max in size I'd go for. Fortunately the RX100 is smaller, much smaller.

(oh, and totally agreed on the 1" sensor making all the difference - many reviews online agree)

They don't need to as it's a given.

The Sony is a great camera, just ridiculously expensive. The AF is a lot slower than Panasonic's, but you are comparing it to the fastest in the industry. As mentioned, I tested it out (one of my main criteria) and it ROCKED!
