One can often see F15s coming in to land and taking off and lumbering C130s flying even in loop around the airport.
hence when the air base is relocated to Changi after 2030, one would expect airforce planes doing the same - and as the runways are all running parallel to each other, and not all aircrafts can use the 4 runways simultanously at the same time for take-off and landings - hence flights will be disrupted somewhat with the air base just next to Changi.

Such a shame they didn't send you a draft a few weeks ago so you could have pointed all this out to them.

Scrapping stuff that is just 20 years old ?. You cannot possibly work in the marine industry.

Have you noticed when landing on 20C or 20R?

Soon Pulau Tekong will join the mainland!

Not sure you can fit 6.9m people in Paya Lebar but after having a look at Pinnacle@Duxton, it might not be too far away.

Moving the port, whilst freeing up hugely expensive sea front land, is more about consolidating activities in one place, boosting efficiency, getting trucks out of the centre of SG and is a good excuse for scrapping so much old equipment around Tanjong Pagar that must be 20-30yrs old now.

Changi take note......all in one place to consolidate activities, boost efficiency and scrap old equipment.

I'd be great to see some renderings of T4 and T5 as well.

The Moshe Safdie design is a tad different from the old Budget Terminal look-and-feel. Oh well, I guess Hospital-Ward-chic is out...

I am afraid that's what happens when you increase distances, it takes longer to get there. Not much you can do about that when an airport goes from two runways to four and three terminals to five.

But putting a new air force base (from Paya Lebar) and its military runway parallel to the "new" 02R - may not seem to be a good idea - as that would mean affecting and delaying passenger aircraft movements during air force exercises and when the air force needs to "scramble" its fighters at any given time
Do you really think the RSAF will be carrying out air force exercises next to a four runway five terminal airport that has up to 100 million pax a year transiting through it ?. Most of their major exercises are not even done in or around Singapore.

Wonder also if they built another Control Tower as with 2 other runways and T5 a distance away, the current tower will unlikely to see completely.

Actually it is quite a good idea. Since land to the east of Changi is reserved for future airport development anyway. And at least planes do not fly over the CBD (unlike Heathrow and Haneda)
