This is absolutely correct, as the cockpit is always near first class or business class galley, if pilot request something he likes from the IFS, IFS will ask senior crew to keep it for the pilot.

Normal circumstances, after the meal service is completed, the crew & pilot will then make their menu choices. Priority is to be given to pax first, & pilots are not to demand to eat when meal service is ongoing. Of course, it is still flexible & depends on the relationship between pilots & crew. For cabin crew working in economy or business, they will have to stick to their meals in the zone where they work.

If the cabin & tech crew are paxing, ie, they are travelling as passengers in their civilian clothing, they will be served like any of us a normal passenger.

Maybe the ingredient he meant was in hokkien style.

In hokkien we call it "liao"

                    "ho liao"

We have more than one ground catering company in Singapore. Swissport and SATS.

The tech crew probably consume food from different batches...

I didn't even know that. Wow, that's an awesome perk!

Does anyone know if the new 787 implemented some sort of table/tray design for the flight deck crew despite the presence of a control column?

I would assume the pilots get something equivalent to a Y meal for short/regional routes...?

My understanding is SIA get food from both. But may be for different flights.
