I agree that I REALLY miss the old video and in particular music. I also agree that I would have liked the new video to feature the previous music. However.... just looking at the previous version of the video, and the music is kind of dated. I can understand SQ wanting to move forward with a more progressive video. I think only geeks like us will be missing the old video, and we are a pretty small % of the market

There are no F/J cabin pictures on the new videos IIRC, unlike the old video.
I saw this on the flight I took last Friday. On my flight almost a week ago though, it was the other video that was featured. I think the former is newer as I saw an iPhone.

The new vides SUXS big time. It seems like an amature video. Even the sound is so like 1970s. The best I have seen is by Air Canada. I must give Air Canada credit for the effort.

True, the only good thing they have on the IFE is the safety video. Pretty impressed the first time before everything goes down hill afterwards.

When I saw the video, it was actually not the one I expected. I expected it to be flashier.

If it weren't for the iPhone featured in the mobile phone part, I kind of thought it was circa 2003 since it played on an older regional 772.

I was on SQ972 last week and they did a manual demonstration (no idea why).

Now that really took me back. It's been years since I saw one of those.

It's obviously still part of the training for the FA's, as they gave a spotless performance.

It also gave me an excuse to stare at a pretty girl for a couple of minutes without being belted by the Mrs

The safety video might have been faulty, so there was no choice but to do manual demonstration.

Noticed that the safety video quality was really grainy on my recently flight (744 J class). I thought it was one-off but had the same grainy image on a return flight (also 744 but different plane).

Wonder why? Brand new video and it appeared like something from long ago.

Maybe to get some practise in so they don't lose their touch.

Dry, very very dry and uninspired. I actually liked the previous one even when it was first launched.

                          The ones I like:

                          1. Air New Zealand
                          2. South African Airways (a cartoon!)

                          Do a search for these.

Just a heads up, SQ is currently producing a new arrivals video which will be shown onboard just before arrival into Singapore.

Guess they have taken a leaf from MH, who shows arrival video prior to landing,
