Maybe rerouting New York JFK via another point in Europe...London, Zurich or wherever, maybe North Asia even, how about HKG?
I find a stopover in ZRH makes sense. This way SQ could operate the 2x daily service to ZRH but 1 flight would go on to New York JFK. So only 1 flight will be operating ZRH-SIN daily.
The world's too large a place not to go wandering.

SQ's preferred intermediate point for JFK is PVG, but they seem to lack the 5th freedom rights despite Singapore having some variant of "open skies" agreement with both the PRC and the US.
What about SIN-ICN-JFK? ICN seems to be a common stop (SFO, and YVR when they flew there). Plus, it would be shorter than going via FRA. NRT could be a possibility as well and they could time it such that you can connect to LAX or JFK from NRT.
For me it wouldn't make sense to drop or reroute the FRA-JFK tag. Star would give up one flight of one of FRA's most profitable routes - a great offer to DL or AA
AFAIK the only problem is SQ26 FRA->JFK (the return flight was generally full the last years). And the reason is obviously: it departs FRA at 0830AM, when there have not many feeder flights arrived to fill this flight, so that it nearly only carries o&d pax from FRA and traffic transiting from SIN.
To solve the problem SQ could try to get later slots in FRA, so it could get more short-haul feed, and/or cooperate with Air India which has its India-Amercia hub in Frankfurt. The AI flights from India to North America (Chicago and Newark, Toronto starting in fall) leave FRA around the same time as SQ26.
@zvezda: you stated that 25/26 has higher loads than 325/326. Is this the case for both directions? If I'm not wrong the FRA->SIN flights departing in the evening should have better loads.
I know, but westbound it's the other way round. SQ325 is the only flight arriving in the evening, while SQ25 arrives nearly the same time as LH and QF in the morning.
Also I know of Qantas having ~95% loads on this route (at least until last year) - all those flights at times when SQ and LH are flying, too. So I'm not that sure about the loads of SQ25/26 and 325/326...
FRA-SIN on SQ25 is consistently full based on my observations of the cabins during the flights in the past 4 months (once a month) both in whY and C... (that is of course, after all the drinks pre-flight).
FRA-SIN SQ325 not quite, mostly more than half full but not sardine pack. Some pax still sleeping across the entire middle rows in whY. Love the C in the 77W

Yes, sorry. You're correct. The evening FRA-SIN flight has higher demand than the noon departure despite the LH wingtip flight.
Another option would be for SQ to use a 777-300ER 6x weekly and wet-lease an aircraft in Star Alliance livery from LH for the 7th weekly flight. Of course, it would have a LH interior.
In my opinion, the best option for SQ would be 3x daily 777-300ER service to FRA with one flight continuing to JFK. However, SQ don't have enough 777-300ERs to seriously consider this option.
If I had to make the decision, I would drop the FRA-JFK tag.

If SQ were to go with this option, they'd have to wetlease the 346 from LH. For SQ, PTVs are probably a must in all cabins.
