  • Another Round of SQ Fare Reductions [18 March]

    Hi All,

I have noticed a general reduction in SQ fares today on Y ex-SIN

I booked SIN-MNL for S$500.00. Last week it was S$550.00

I did a mock booking of SIN-LAX and price was reduced from S$1800.00 to $1600.00.

Its a sign of the time i guess. Finally there is something to be happy about. Now if only they would reduce those darned fuel surcharges and have promos that were worth taking up. I hope that this is just the start of something more substantial.

i am booked in whY. Also, i booked for mid april where low fares were available, then upgraded my ticket to J. I have a habit of doing that or putting myself on waitlist. You should have done that. Being a PPS, your waitlist will clear quite easily no?

maybe you should cancel your ticket and re-book. i am flying on SQ912 on Friday.

Well. It depends on what is meant by up or down - i.e. from what. The new promotional fares released today are actually substantially higher than the last batch of offers ended March 17. Manila is part of routes discounted this time, with lowest fare at $444 two to go.

Yes, I found the fare today was lower than a couple of days ago. The SIN - PVG is now SGD 500 lower. Wished Singaporeair has given me an early warning of the fare changes.

Falling fares and fuel surcharges are also alarming carriers like SIA, which earn almost half of their revenues from top-tier travellers.
I can't believe I've just read this, are they taking the p*ss ?. Who's fault is it they still have high fuel surcharges when oil is now just over 40 USD a barrel ?. If they are 'alarmed' with fuel surcharges, then drop them !!!!

A recent American Express survey found business class fares out of Singapore fell 3 per cent in the last three months of last year, compared with the July-September period
And they wonder why cabins are empty....

Just got this in an email from a TA I use in Vietnam. It's worth noting that the price of USD3100 was what I was paying for the regular SGN-MAN trips I was doing up to the PPS changes. Then as well as cannabalising the PPS programme, they whacked it up to USD4100. At least it shows they may finally be coming back into the real world again, which would be nice for a change.

When they drop the fuel surcharges, these may be of interest.

SQ fuel surcharge is still high though. At least for departures from SIN.
