I'm wondering if there's some other unannounced Australia route or something that might also get A380'ised with SKF's arrival, or is it just undoable?

Any chance of SIN-AKL direct do you think?

SQ currently already operates SIN-AKL direct using the 77W and I think the 772ER as well.

Yes, but how about with a direct A380? Are the loads doable, do you think?

Bearing in mind one of the two daily AKL flights has no F, and TG have withdrawn F to AKL, I'm not sure there would be a big R market.

All three LHR flights will eventually be A380.

Gutted!!! I saw availability in C on several of the Tu/Th SQ321s in Jan/Feb 2009. I was about to book, but then mysteriously everything got zeroed out (on the ANA tool) about a month ago - all dates, nothing on 318/321... Now I know why! Grrrr!!!

                Official Press Release

                http://www.singaporeair.com/mediacen...ws/NE_3908.jsp

Singapore Airlines Adds Second Daily A380 Service Between Singapore And London

Singapore Airlines will increase its A380 services on the Singapore-London route to double-daily from 20 September 2008.

The Singapore - London route becomes the first in the world to be operated double-daily by the new superjumbo.

The second daily service will depart Singapore as flight SQ 318, and return from London as flight SQ 321. The third daily flight (SQ308 from Singapore, SQ319 from London) will continue to be operated by a Boeing 747-400 for the time being.

The SQ 318 and SQ 321 service is currently operated by an A380 four times weekly. The additional A380 flights will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, following the delivery of the sixth A380 aircraft to Singapore Airlines from manufacturer Airbus in September 2008.

Singapore Airlines first started daily A380 operations between Singapore and London in March 2008, and increased frequency to 11 times a week in mid-July.

A detailed schedule of A380 services on the Singapore-London route can be found in Annex 1.

In addition to London, the Singapore Airlines A380 flies daily to Sydney and Tokyo. Singapore Airlines is the first to fly the A380, and the cabin product introduced by Singapore Airlines has been well received by customers since commercial services started in October last year.

The A380 features the revolutionary Singapore Airlines Suites, a new and luxurious class of travel where each Suite is the customer’s private cabin in the sky. The product was recognised as the “Best Airline Suite” in the Wallpaper Magazine Awards 2008.

The New Business Class – another award-winning product – features the widest seat in its class, while the New Economy Class is intelligently designed to give customers greater comfort and personal space when they fly the A380 with Singapore Airlines.

And with the new KrisWorld, Singapore Airlines’ renowned inflight entertainment system, customers across all classes will find there’s never a dull moment.

Singapore Airlines has firm orders for a further 13 A380s and options on another six.

Most unlikely. Now if SQ gave up on Oz-USA nonstop and decided to fly via NZ (which AFAIK they can do now), that route might be a candidate for A380. Loads and yields are high between Oz/NZ and USA.

At the moment AKL has F only on SQ (daily), LA (daily), EK (3 daily). I think CX is bringing F back (seasonally at least).

I would say 1x daily WhaleJet service to AKL replacing all current services is a possibility. Of course, it would have to be well timed for LHR connections.

Ah thanks for that! Was wondering what was up with MSN012..
She seems a very low profile airframe.

Will SQ upgauge the SIN-FRA, SIN-CDG or SIN-ZRH flight? How likely is it?

SIN-FRA will get the Whale. ZRH and CDG probably not.
We put labels on people and fight wars over them. If we truly want harmony, we have to get past the labels.

                                hello,

do you know when they will upgauge it to an A380? Will it be the 777ER flight or the 747 flight?

                                regards,
