Was on the SIN-DPS flight on 5th Sep (late afternoon) and guess who were also on-board in the J Cabin?

None other than the ex-INA president Mrs Megawati Sukarnoputri & her husband Mr. Taufik Kiemas. Of course, there were others in her entourage, including 2 bodyguards for Mr. Kiemas and another lady taking care of Bu Mega's luggage and stuffs.

In fact, I suspected that there would be a VIP as my wife was greeted by one of the newbie Singaporean flight attendant "Welcome onboard Mrs Sukarno". My wife was stunned and just a few seconds later the flight attendant realized her mistake and apologized. My wife turned out to be the only other Indonesian lady in the cabin other than Bu Mega herself.

Load in J was pretty dismal today: 10/30, with the 2 VIPs (and another 1 more VIP sitting in front of them as they seem to know each other). There was also another gentleman who was part of the entourage sitting in the same row as me & my wife. There were 2 other couples sitting in Row 15 & 16. We were seated in Row 17.

More coincidence, when we checked in to our hotel, the hotel boy told us that there would be a VIP checking in tomorrow morning as well. When I asked who....he mentioned "Bu Mega".

Actually LKY can very well afford to fly suites if he wishes to. Like him or hate him, he was a well known politician who continues to create headlines in the papers.

As to whether the consensus agrees or disagrees with his policies and statements, thats another issue.
