  • No seats available on SQ 28

I'm trying to book seats on SQ 28 during dec 08. However, singaporeair.com doesn't reflect the seats to be availabe and my recent check on seatcounter.com also shows that there are no seats available for all of the dates in december.
Does anyone knows what happened??? It's 9 months away from December and it's unlikely that the flight is fully booked at such an early time.

      Same as August 2008.
hope it is just a clean up of seats not the termination of SQ28

according to my pps coordinator, there is hope that the 77W will return to service on the TPE-LAX route in october 2008. however, because this has not been confirmed from headquarters, they have blocked out bookings altogether. any additional information i find out, i will be sure to pass along

From May for the rest of the year despite showing in the schedule, there is no Y availability on SQ28 SIN/TPE/LAX on any flight?????

Why show it in the schedule if SQ are not taking bookings? Maybe a aircraft change or a route change?

            Very strange!

Oh no. What is going on?

I would love to find out what is happening! I am actually less concerned now that I have started flying CX. Shhhh! SQ simply doesn't fly on some of the dates when I need to travel. Since I am always on a budget and purchase discounted D/I fares , I need to use the same carrier roundtrip. I cannot fly SQ if it doesn't operate on both my outbound and inbound dates.

But there are no availabilities starting in May! Why block it out if changes are not until October?

"Something is definitely not right in the state of Denmark!"

It appears that you can book SIN/TPE/SIN on SQ27/28 but not SIN/TPE/LAX or TPE/LAX

When you try to book a TPE/LAX flight, singaporeair wants to route you via SIN (i.e. TPE/SIN/NRT/LAX) huh......................!

30 April is the last date that SQ28 SIN/LAX can be booked.

SQ TPE has stopped selling all TPE-LAX-TPE tickets after 01-May-08 pending further notice. There is a possibility that this flight will be discontinued. My concern of SQ dropping this flight may actually come true. For once, I wish I was wrong. On the bright side, perhaps 77W is returning and SQ is preparing for a fare hike.

I've booked 3 flights in Jan on this route. SQ27 on May 31st, SQ28 on Aug 20th and SQ27 on Dec 17th. If dropping this flight become true...that's sad.

If it is going to be discontinued I guess vincent0720 you'll be one of the first to know as you have an existing booking.

We despaired at the loss of the 77W from the SIN/LAX run, but if SQ28 is discontinued that will leave only SQ12 (via NRT) as being the only option for Y pax to travel SQ direct to/from LAX. I can see its going to be hard trying to get tickets.......................unless this is a precursor to A380 to LAX (I know, wishful thinking here ).

Or, alternatively maybe SQ has something else up their sleeves...............?? (Any insiders able to comment?)

I know at the moment whatever dates I try putting into "singaporeair" with an ADL/SIN/LAX // YVR/SIN/ADL I can't get anything.

Could they be trying to get TPE passengers to fill up SQ38 while it is being converted to all business? It just seems more possible than getting customers at NRT or FRA to help fill up any spare Y+ seats while they last... Hmm, just a (very) wild guess.

well, my bookings still exist on singaporeair.com
I have not observed any significant change of the booking so far.
hmm, maybe they want the business class passengers on SQ27/28 to take SQ37/38 instead.
How many seats are there in new all business SQ37/38?

That sounds far fetched. Few will be willing to fly TPE-SIN-LAX.

I think some important change is coming to SQ27/28. As I stated in these threads:

                              http://www.sqtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2692
                              http://www.sqtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3610

The current 4x weekly service is not sustainable for yield purpose. SQ has to either drop the route, or go back to daily service (possibly with a higher fare). Let's hope it is the latter.
