Singapore Airlines Announces A380 Flights to Tokyo Narita

Pity its not the SQ12 getting the A380, but given the lack of aircraft delivered, it is not possible at this time. However, with SQ638 getting the A380, will this take pressure of SQ12?

There will be more JumboJet retirements in 2008. Look for the rest of the 9V-SM* aircraft to be gone by the end of the year.

Also not wanting to pour water on such a wonderful aircraft, but with the spate of tech problems in the last couple of weeks with the A380, will SQ have capacity to cover techs given that the A380 will by May be operating SIN/SYD, SIN/LHR and SIN/NRT?

SQ638/637 are a good flights for aircraft rotation purposes. SQ637 arrives at 1800hrs and is a standby aircraft for SQ221. SQ317 would have arrived from London at 0745hrs. So there will be 2 A380 on ground. SQ220 from Sydney lands at approx 2145hrs and there will also be 2 aircraft on ground for SQ638 and SQ322.

Of course last minute technical problems will be another story.....

hey guys when do you think are they going to replace the747 on the sin-Fra-jfk route. I am going to be on that flight in December. So should I already buy the ticket in F and hope or wait whether sq will use the 380 for that.

I never seem to understand... are there more demand for the SFO route compared to LAX? They have been getting the 77W and from the many replies, there seem to be a hype on SQ 1 and 2 being switched to A380.... What about the routes to LAX? I haven't even got a chance to fly on the 777 ER when they downgraded the plane on the LAX-TPE route =( Whats wrong with SQ?

Yes, LAX has more demand than SFO, but have 3 daily flights to LAX and 2 to SFO.
