I posted a question about SQs Credit Card restrictions a few weeks ago on Flyer Talk. In February I was booking a flight for August but when I went to use my Credit Card (which expires in May) it gave me all of the gumf about potentially having the ticket cancelled etc if I insisted on using that card. A sort of "Danger, Will Robinson!" sort of approach. The option of popping into a SQ ticket office to show them the card before it expires might not work for every one outside of the island paradise either. In the end I used another card. Now other airlines can be awkward as well. If your card has expired in the interim if your travelling Thai they suggest keeping the old card to show at check in. SQs a step beyond that though. I even mentioned it to my credit card company (the one I hadn't been able to use) and they basically said I must have read it wrong. A replacement card would be just fine.
In the end what SQ wants I guess I do for SQ. But what bugs me is what the problem is they think they're protecting themselves against. After all they'll have had my money for several months - so how could they then deny me boarding.
Anyway my first posting on the board. Love SQ, stock holder the whole bit and haven't quite got over them removing PE from EWR. One last flight to go on that before it finally goes. Have to smile though at the charming email that I got from customer service a couple of months back when I complained that I couldn't find any PE bookings from EWR in August. They said they'd report the 'system error' I didn't get any response to my follow up which noted that it seemed to work for 'C' class and asking if there was any truth in the rumor that PE was a goner!
