  • SQ Credit card verification

    Guys

My credit card was skimmed a few days ago and as a result of the fraud, I had to cancel the card. Unfortunately, it is the same one I used to purchase all my air tickets.

What's is going to happen when I check-in at London for SQ? I can show them the skimmed credit card (though the account is closed). Hopefully they won't swipe the card.

The only thing I can think is for SQ to call my credit card company to verify my identity. Anyone with experience of this and what advice would you give to me? Thanks...

No experience here but surely the thing to do would be to speak to SQ now (before your flight) and confirm with them.

Sorry to hear that SQFAN. Credit card fraudsters are disgusting.

      What JHM said.

Called SQ SIN and was told to call SQ London whio they say may have different procedure.

SQ London advised me to get a letter from my credit card company.

Just called my credit card company and trying to arrange for tonight or first thing tomorrow morning.

Watch this space....damn, I'm stress with work and trying to fly and now this...bad karma

In my experience, (no my card was not lost, but change card numbers) I would keep the old card and told them that the card has been stolen... and here is my new card. But again, advising SQ for the change would be good as well to record the information.

I hate it when our credit cards have been compromised.

Hope everything works out for you well, SQFAN.

From my experience, the check in counter only needs the CCV number of the card to verify the card you used to purchase the tickets.

I found that they only look at the card - presumably to confirm you have the physical card in your name etc... They've never skimmed my cards at LHR, SIN, ADL, DXB etc...

What should I do if I lose the credit/debit card used to purchase my ticket and this is needed for check-in?
Please go to your nearest Singapore Airlines Ticketing office to purchase a new ticket and refund the old ticket.

What should I do if my bank has issued me a new credit/debit card to replace the one used to purchase my ticket?

What should I do if I terminate the credit/debit card that I used to purchase my ticket?
Before you terminate, please bring your credit/debit card to the nearest Singapore Airlines Ticketing office to have it verified. You will then no longer be required to present your credit/debit card during check-in.

What should I do if my credit/debit card expires before I commence my travel?

that sounds very harsh of SQ! cancel your ticket & get it re-issued... I wonder if they would honour the previous fare that you had... plus if you go to the ticketing office, you need to pay a service fee if i'm not mistaken...

Agree with SQ LPP. I think they will just need to look that you have the card physically.

The last time I flew SQ my credit card had expired and I had been issued a new one. They definitely did swipe it at check in as i was watching for this as I was worried it would be rejected. However it was not a problem (for both BA and SQ) however as it was just a renewal of an expired card the number had stayed the same so that might be the reason.

I've finally got the letter from MBNA my credit card company after calling them from 9am to 3pm yesterday. Four attempts on my part to their security team and enduring the muzak and explaining all the time.

Today, I will fly down and will check-in (well, done OLCI) 4 hrs before and will post what happens.
