Just secured my first class redemption ticket for SIN-SFO sector on SQ2 for end of Sep, and it has been issued today. It's as a part of a long star alliance itinerary to SJU (SIN-SFO-PHL-SJU-ORD-NRT-SIN).
What will happen with my ticket if SQ do really change this flight into A380?
Do they really willing to accomodate me into their Suite?
      (cross my fingers.....)

Hm.. so SQ1/2 will only be served with the 380 in Jun? Oh boy.. just missed it. Made a redemption in Raffles for end May... Argh.. *crossing fingers and hoping that SWE's delivery will be brought forward*

My assumption is that if I book SFO-HKG (SQ1) in July or Aug '08, it is a bit of a gamble as to whether or not I will get the new A380.

Please correct me if I am missing something here.

                Thanks.

well it is not... because the a380 will fly to HKG. and the route from SIN-HKG-SFO or sq1 uses the same plane for both segments... so when sq fly the a380... it has to be the A380

                    Hi All,
Sorry for my novice question but can one fly SQ1/2 only on SIN-HKG-SIN route without flying to SFO?
If yes this will be an attractive way to get a thrill of the R class in a relatively low budget no?
Thanks in advance for your information

Your sentence structure is a bit wierd but the real question is if SQ will even use the A380 on SQ2/1 by August. SQ has not announced its plans yet, so anything said now is pure speculation.

When SQ first flew to Sydney, it was announced SQ will start the LHR route on February, leading people here to speculate it will be on Feb 14. As we now know the LHR service will start on March 18.

Unless you have some insider information.....

Yes you can - So yes should be one of the cheapest options to fly in R. However on such a short flight I really can not see it being worth the hefty premium I'm sure SQ will charge for it over F except to have tried it out.

Thanks for the information. The only way to make it reasonable budget wise is to buy a ticket now in F on this route for some date after Aug 08 and hope that the 744 will be replaced by the 380 and hence the F ticket will become a R ticket.
