Indeed, since the FA onboard seems to take it as an anomaly as well - enough to want to file a report.

I only had Krug on SQ318. Had some DP 2000 on HKG-SIN as that's what they opened for pre take off drinks.

I've always preferred Krug. Dom 2000 is a tad too sweet, though better than 98 and 99.

The same bubbles (and then some) are served on QF. Though it's only 1 of each on any 1 flight. I'm hoping for Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millenaires '95 on QF F in Feb as that's my fave of the lot. Hence deliberately routing via HKG as statistically that champagne seems to appear on HKG flights the most.

I was only going by what the crew told me. The crew themselves mentioned that the catering department had made a mistake. I asked for seconds and they were more than happy to oblige but were subsequently shocked to discover that the catering department had only loaded a single serving, and that usually there'd be enough for seconds (or thirds) even if there's only 1 pax onboard. As pointed out earlier, the situation was serious enough to warrant a report by the crew (that and the missing snacks). I did not make a fuss at all and tried to make light of the situation by pointing out that maybe the catering department wanted to be environmentally friendly - however from the crew's POV it was unacceptable service-wise.

It was indeed, mostly due to the great crew.

I remember on my one and only solo F flight on SQ I saw what they had loaded aginst each item when the LSS was taking my order and there were 4 of each main course and 8 of evrything else (plus I had BTC). I did think that this was a bit excessive but maybe they had some late cancellations.

            Dear KeithMEL,
I am not trying to be a pita here. But, I find that what the crew told you it's a bit odd, especially using the term "under catered."
As I mentioned before, yes, it used to be a tin of caviar, which can cater few pax; but now it's a jar. And the crew would know on the ground that indeed only one jar of caviar was loaded for just a solo single pax.
Missing snacks? That's a bit strange. Well, I am not so sure whether you were keeping the C menu as well, but I have noticed that the Light Bites menu for C and F are usually the same for the long haul. As an example, here are the menu that cawhite posted for SQ26.

Since you were the only pax known prior to departure, the caterer would not stock up full light bites combo, because the only F pax would still be able to get them from the C class. So, I would not call it as under catered like what the crew said to you. Or am I really being a pita here?

I had a solo flight in F ex NRT once. Not only had the loaded multiple servings of all the menu items, but this included the kyo kaiseki and Japanese menu items as well. The food available just for me would have feed a village in Africa for a year I reckon.

Like I said I was only relaying what the crew mentioned. Unfortunately I wouldn't know whether they're right or not as the only way to find out would be to look at the response to their report, which of course I'm not privy to.

The tuna mayo sandwich was the missing item from the snacks' menu. I simply took the beef option instead. I was not offered an alternative from C. The crew seemed rather upset and even the ISM came up to apologise.

It all seemed like a big deal to them so I believed them when they said that the catering dept made a mistake.

                        • Just want to report

                          2/12 in F on SIN-CGK on the 5.30pm flight Nov 20
                          1/18 in F on SIN-ICN on SQ 602 Nov 30th

                          • Well, me and my partner flew F today on SIN-MNL, SQ910, 9V-SYA (took the same aircraft from BKK-SIN yesterday!) and we were the only 2 in F. So thats solo as far as Im concerned. We absolutely loved it! Load factor in both other cabins was 100%. Was 13 out of 18 in F yesterday on bkk-sin and both other cabins full.

Took the opportunity for lots of happy snaps with the empty cabin, very nice flight!

That's kinda worrying for SQ as the INA market is typically a lucrative one for them.

                              • Just flew solo in F on CX B744 HKG-CGK (on my favorite F product in the sky ).
                                Loads were 1 F, 6 J (!). The entire upper deck (J) was empty.

                                Excellent flight and out-of-this-world service.

                                LAX-HKG was quite light too - 3/9 in F.
