    Well , you also can't earn miles on fare classes below H on CX (but as you point out, you won't be much on TraitorAir) and can't earn miles if you want to fly BA directly between the UK and the US.

      No way around the 2nd bit.
      However... I recently realised that BGI would make a very nice alternative to YYZ or YVR... Like Kuta in the Carribean.
