I don't think such tales of absolute masochism will need to meet any standards - the details of sheer torture will make fascinating reading, regulatory standards or not!

SYD-ICN-LHR At least it's on OZ. Will pray for the appearance of the Op Up faeries.

plus the return sector LHR-ICN-SYD-SIN (*STPM hauling dirty laundry back to SIN is a nono )

Well, I was so inspired by that work of literary genius (the mother of all threads, no less) by nickbot, that I locked in my departure ex-FRA on LH F a lonnngggggg time ago.

There's also the slight matter of the cost of LH F redemptions skyrocketing lately. So it was now or never...

There's still time to switch FRA-SIN to FRA-ZRH-BKK-SIN

Aside from the huge miles penalty for taking LH F, I have thus far been also slightly put off by the mixed reports about it - some rave, some hate! Would be great to hear your thoughts on it

Hopefully my year end "43hrs to LHR! whY????" will meet the regulatory standards.

You guys! I'm a perfectly behaved innocent young student with an immaculate room, I'll have you all know! Booze and adult magazines have no place in the room of a model student such as myself.

Looking at the mess in my apartment (my stuff overflows out of my room), it will be like striking the Lotto if you manage to find the lost copies of "stuff"

Such high praise - thank you! I agree, it's a real shame they dropped BKK-SIN v.v. and hope they're able to reinstate it in the future.

But fear not. Even though LX has abandoned SIN, they have treated me well enough that they will always have an eternally grateful place in my heart.

Very strange that stargold obsesses about tidying his room the night before each departure. Perhaps there's a story behind that too, e.g. his parents made a surprise visit once and were absolutely shocked ?

Thank you! Hand on heart, I didn't feel that the old seats were inadequate in any significant way. The new seat is excellent I'm sure, but the soft product more than makes up for the slightly older interior...

You summed up the Swiss experience perfectly. What a wonderful TR and it makes me sad to think I won't have even a chance to contemplate flying with them until next year.

Here's to hoping they start SIN-BKK again!

Wow! Apart from the 1980's doilly , the LX F flight looks absolutely superb.

Hey, don't knock the doilly! As I said, it somehow didn't look too out of place in that table setting... don't know whether you agree! Doilly or otherwise, LX F is indeed superb

I'm not sure about this. BA LHR-CDG is the same flying time but you get a cold tray meal, e.g. a chicken salad, a small tub of dessert (or a chocolate), warm bread and some drinks.

Ahh. Well, I haven't flown the shortest European sectors for a long time so I wasn't familiar with what BA offer. MXP-ZRH just felt like we were essentially jumping over the Alps

The ZRH F check-in freestanding desks reminds me of the same at HKG except the ones at HKG are right in the middle of the vast terminal. An oasis of calm amongst the bustle all around!

I agree it's nice, but not as nicely done as the ZRH LX counters - the design and the private surroundings of the separate room is much better.

The ZRH F lounge looks impressive. It sure beats hands down the old LX F lounge (or rather the F section inside the J lounge) - I remember searching in vain for anything more than croissants to eat for breakfast!

Without having been to the old F lounge, I can only repeat how impressed I was with the ZRH F lounge. Especially the pre-flight dining - two excellent main courses as phaleesy "kindly" pointed out in relation to the Italian swimmers!!

I guess you missed the ZRH cow train ?

I sadly missed out on the cow train in favour of the Merc van - heard it's a rather unique experience. Next time!
