Opps. From Kuta beach?

Nick C, Ubud is around 1 hour from Kuta beach.

Leo, this is one of the most picturesque TRs I have seen. Bali is indeed the paradise on earth that I always like to go back to. Indeed, I just went there for a full week holiday with my family in June. However, with the kids, we had to miss out all the good restaurants.

To me all Babi Guling in Bali taste quite similar. The white lawar (the spicy vegetable salad without raw pig blood) can indeed get very spicy. Did you get to try Bebek Bengil (The Dirty DUck Diner) while in Ubud?

UMD: It was indeed the lawar which was the turn-off! Didn't try the bebek - both the gf and I are not big fans of duck (confit notwithstanding). Time for a trip without the kids perhaps??

Since I am not really into the beach/ sun/ lazing around the pool thing, I suspect I will not be seeing Bali for myself ... for a long, long time.
