I am very blessed indeed to have traveled through beautiful Indonesia in the last four decades. It is definitely one of the countries to which I have an intimate connection

I remember flying on a Vickers Viscount on our way to a jungle river safari once. And on the manual departure board at JKT, saw there was a DC3 chartered by the Forestry Ministry taking off before us, I was so envious and wished I was on the DC3!

Yes, rijsttafel--a fabulous way to really enjoy Indonesian cusine. Unfortunately outside of Southeast Asia, I seldom find nasi, seroendeng, bandeng or tahu petis!
