Didn't work for me last night. It uses the 'FREE EX' network in the lounge, but in the rooms this is only covered by 'inter-touch'.

And I was in the room right opposite the lounge entrance...

yea, you connect to the inter-touch AP, just refresh the login page and it will log you in... Unless they fix this bug? My last stay @hilton was 4 month ago and I'm still able to do this "bug"

                      Damn straight.

Very much a happier camper but due to some issues with Hilton PJ recently, I've just diverted 5 stays to SPG and have 2 more in the next 5 days.

On a somewhat adventurous note, I've also booked one night in Novotel Suvarnabhumi because of the Accor Crazy Sale awhile back and due to needing to wake up at 5am to catch first flight to HKT. It's been quite awhile...

That is quite adventurous Kyo, I saw the Novotel for the first time on Friday and, well suffice to say I wont be going there in a hurry...

Very happy with the Sofitel Bangkok Silom

Why ? Unless I'm mistaken, I think I stayed there a few years ago for part of a day when I had a fairly long wait at BKK and I didn't want to hang around the airport. I was a bit miffed at check-in telling me to sit and wait until an "important person" came down using the lift and after about 15 minutes and still nothing (with previous sleep time ticking away), I complained and they escorted me to the lift and allowed me to go up. Apart from that, the hotel seemed fine although I just stayed in my room throughout.

Hilton had no choice but to do this as it was clearly costing them business. It certainly was in my case as I have drastically cut my Hilton stays in the last year or so.

I would like to express my thanks to Hyatt (again) for this welcome move by Hilton, just like I did when Starwood copied them.

I know what you mean here. I'd already decided to drop down to Hilton Silver (to keep VIP awards to spend the, umm, 500,000+ points I have) whilst playing the field with hotels although still staying in favoured Hiltons (VIE, MUC City, TXL, DRS, CGN). Now, this change makes a vast difference and I'll be spending this weekend trying to work out a mattress run to retain Gold.

Or I could replace a 8 night at SOTP SYD with 8 nights at Hilton SYD in a relax suite (and qualify on base points), but dang it, I like SOTP SYD a lot more than Hilton SYD.
