Please search w sentosa under SPF forum under TOF. The initial reviews aren't encouraging and well.... I'll leave you to make up yr mind.

The comment that I still remember " they only give out 2 pieces of salmon" obviously skimping on the expensive stuff.

It is better not to try a W at least for the first 6 months upon opening until the hotel works out all the kinks. So far, if majority of the reviews in both TA and flyertalk are correct, it's a horror show.

Yeah, I've been reading... oh well, gonna go for it anyway, and booking a few things in certain ways to make sure I have all angles covered...

Can't wait for this weekend to be over to cover my last remaining angle with Plat50 SNA

That's brave of you. I am sure you will be well prepared. Maybe some extra paper cups and plates, plastic utensils, toothpaste, blankets and towels to bring along? A few packets of instant noodles won't hurt either just in case ( in case room service don't deliver that late night snack ) Nah... I'm sure it can't be that bad. Do report back how's the experience. Good Luck!

I'll be interested to hear any further substantiated posts about a 25 dollar fee for extra cutlery. Ridiculous and makes one wonder if the hotel cannot pay its bills.

I'll put them exactly where they deserve to be if they try that stunt here. Won't stand for any nonsense and I'm prepared mentally to take them on now

Was flirting with the idea of even going there this weekend in advance...

That thread is hilarious in parts. There is one guy moaning and listing all the issues, on the opening day FFS. You don't stay at Hotels on the opening day if you want everything to work, no matter what hotel or where it is. The same guy also goes on to list all the other opening day he had stayed at Hotels!!. You couldn't make it up....

Agreed. No opening day visits... it's pointless and a waste of effort. However they've had a month and a half to improve now, by this weekend - they should be getting into gear.

I've just hit the 50 mark 6 hours ago and already submitted 2 SNAs online on SPG.com under different reservations. SPG is now 'working on it'.

One is a regular Opening offer booked way back (cheaper than usual)... cheapest Spectacular room category

Second is an Away room also with an Opening offer. THIS is the one I'm hoping will come through as it'd really be special. Often they only upgrade to Marvelous category suites, so if the far pricier Away room gets upgraded to an Away Suite, I'll cancel the Spectacular room (even if that gets a Marvelous Suite for cheaper).

Both the above have a 3pm day prior cancellation policy.

Thirdly, as a backup, have booked a corporate fully cancellable one (no SNA requested as it is about $100 more expensive than the Spectacular room. In case both the above fail, and as a last ditch attempt.

If all the above don't come through by the day prior, I'm walking. Gotta have somewhere nice to throw a b'day bash - and I can easily do that at my other fave SIN SPG property which has taken extremely good care of me, even this past weekend. 4 suites in last 4 visits...

Made a comment to the W that it was for a b'day bash also, so I'm pulling as many strings as I can on this, but not afraid to walk if necessary. Oh, and if any SQTalkers can squeeze a dinner in Sunday night, they'd be invited if the W rises to the occasion.

I might be a bit hungover, so it won't probably be a next-day TR

You still owe us one from your promise ages back...

Anyway, reporting back that the Suite Night Award has cleared... on an Away Room... to (only) a Marvelous Suite. (not an Away Suite)

                          Now I'm wavering...

Mum and dad are currently there. Sounds like they're having a great time from the Whatsapp messages I've received. Since no one has posted a TR I guess this short text from Mum will have to do:
Very nice W. Feel so young staying here. But why so Asian style ah? Too bright not like the US Ws. Still very nice parties and food.
I asked them what they thought of the locale but given all they seem to do in SIN is visit either casino complexes to gamble, eat or shop they didn't mind the location all that much. I hear there were some issues with getting cabs but my parents drove (they're from JB) so they couldn't confirm.
All opinions shared are my own, and are not necessarily those of my employer or any other organisation of which I'm affiliated to.
