  • Pre-departure champagne in F

Last few years (or so) no champagne pre-depature in F class. The reason is no ‘duty’ paid. They do serve champagne (albeit a lesser grade) in J. This afternoon ex-LAX, the IFM brought me a glass of the J class bubbly in the F class flute. Yes, first world problems.. but cant they afford the duty for F class passengers? Just 4 on the 77W.

Is this just a ex-LAX thing?

I recall SQ 12 served ex-SIN but thats 9am and I never usuallt ask.

    How about other countries?

I think this is a US thing. Had this happen to me ex-JFK also.

No issues ex-LHR and ex-FR. The good stuff gets brought out and the partayy begins on the ground.

Perhaps SQ will re-think the US situation, once the ULRs with F come online.

Well, here we are 2026… still
no pre-departure alcohol in 1st. But available in business.

At least they now have Cristal and Bollinger as choices!

Also, finally new safety video after 6-7 years…

Thanks for sharing the update allmotor_2000. Very surprising that they don’t offer F Champagne as a PDB. As SQ777 mentioned, is this only a US phenomenon?

Not a problem I will likely ever experience as I am almost never in F, but on the ground I do enjoy a good bottle of bubbly, and I think I drink more than my fair share when it is available in the lounge.

Slightly off topic, but I wonder if Dom Perignon will ever make a return to SQ F.

Interestingly the crew mentioned that A380’s still carry Krug. So its all aircraft dependent (surprising). I am heading back on the non-stop J class. Back to the old safety video. Not much consistency.

I am not much of a drinker myself but I will certainly indulge occasionally when there is 10hrs+ of empty time!

I am on SQ 11 today but in J (11A) and I see champagne being served in F. No seats available last min ticket. Hit or miss?
