    I noticed that I had around 200k in my KF account and thought I would top it off with Amex points to a bus class mixed saver/standard return BNE - LHR on an A330/A380 for Christmas to surprise my family on a 2 day whirlwind.

    Every time I get to past enter passenger details it throws up the update itinerary page but still shows all sectors confirmed. Proceed to payment, enter card details and bam - no flight/routes.

    Is anyone able to shed some light on this please ? I can't expert flyer the "I" fare buckets but the flights (and I have tried many combinations over several date ranges). I have expert flyer'd the flights concerned which show Z4, J4, C4.

    I've given up all hope of actually trying to find a redemption flight and matching a J class paid ticket for wife as a birthday surprise for her at the end of the month.

    Perhaps I should just phone KF and ask but didn't want to cough up another 15% points to redeem not online as it would be a terrible burn of more amex points.

    Take pity on this poor disillusioned soul please I could have walked there by now in the amount of time it's taken me thus far !

    Actually, that is precisely what you should do tell them about the situation and ask them if they can book it and also waive the 15% it because of what appears to be a glitch

      Correct, this happened to me before too, call KF up, explain the problem, they will honour the 15%.

        Thanks for the helpful replies. It took a couple of calls before I managed to speak to someone would could understand the predicament since I confused the issue by wanting to ensure availability for a paid ticket also for my wife who, at the last moment, decided that London shopping just before Christmas was too good to give up.

        But yes, it seems the redemption award availability actually has no real bearing on what is shown on the website and the agents were at a loss to explain it, merely saying that it happens.

        End result is a redemption ticket and a paid one. An hour and a half of my life booking it that I will never get back but the 15% was honored.
