Can Krisflyer redemptions be used on codeshare flights?

Is it possible to make redemptions on code shares flights that are operated between Star Alliance and non Star Alliance Carriers.

As part of my travels I will need to fly out of Doha to London.

It seems that the only Star Alliance direct flights from Doha to LHR are through BMI which are codeshare flights with Qatar.

Does anyone know if it possible to make an SIA points redemption on a code share flight with BMI operated by QATAR?

For example BD2653/Q11 DOHA to LHR

Having said that there's no harm in trying to call the Krisflyer number to see if it's allowed. Good Luck!

The only harm is the time wasted.

You cannot redeem on non-*A codeshares. Even for codeshares on *A flights, you need to book on the operating airlines' codes. You can ask for a favor where an agent may have discretion. This is not one of those cases.

Looks like it has to be Lufthansia, Austrian or Virgin out of Dubai. Would have been nice to try out business class on Qatar Airlines?
