  • Krisflyer Redemption Surcharges

    KF redemption points required for one way is exactly half of a return trip, but does anyone know if associated surcharges (eg fuel) are also half?

    I am wondering if it is a better option to book a return journey as 2 separate one-way trips for flexibility of changes if required.

    Thanks!

    No, you paid more if you book 2 separate one-way tickets.

    Even you redeem return tickets, you still can change you date, it doesn't matter

        I just called Krisflyer and found out the following:

        1. Surcharges for return ticket is exactly (down to a few cents) double one way tickets BUT if you book one-way, the second leg is billed in the currency of the foreign country;

        However, there are some differences resulting from having two separate tickets instead of one:

        1. Cancellation of the entire trip will cost you double the penalty,

        2. Making online changes to one leg will not affect the separately ticketed other leg,

        3. Making phone changes to one leg will also not cause the 15% online discount of the other leg to be recalled,

        I decided to book as two tickets.

        Hope the above information will be of help to others.
