  • Best US credit card to earn Krisflyer miles?

Hi -- I reside in the USA, and am looking to register for a credit card to earn Krisflyer miles.

I can't seem to find any direct Singapore Airlines Krisflyer miles credit cards outside of South East Asia, so...

    1) Is my only option one of the points cards/programs which Krisflyer participates in?

    2) To that end, I've read that the Starwood Preferred Guest credit card is one of the better options. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Also, I'd prefer a Visa/Mastercard credit card, vs. Amex.

    Thanks in advance, guys!

    Welcome to SQTalk.

I am not aware of a specific KF earning card in the US. There are countries outside of S.E. Asia with KF earning cards (India for example) but nothing for North America or Europe yet. You can earn on SPG and launder them over, but, in true KF style, the transfer rate is dreadful now compared to a couple of years ago so it's no longer worth it imho.

I can remember back in the day when the lack of a KF earning card really bothered a few of us. How times change...

In the UK, Amex membership reward points translate 1:1 into KF miles, but as you said, in these days of ludicrous KF redemption rates, there are better uses for those points. (Not that this helps OP's original question.)

Amex USA charge cards earns Membership Rewards points that converts into KF miles.
Platinum charge cards earn 1 mile/USD 1 charged. Don't know if other cards (Green/Classic/Centurion) have different earning rate.

Transfers from MR to KF can be done online and is VERY fast (miles credited 1-2 days later IME).

Ah yes, forgot about Amex!. I just have a BA one that contributes to my one trip a year on a 241.

            Thanks for the responses, guys!

I used to have an Amex Gold Rewards card but now use Amex Blue, and have a bunch of points there. Checked the latest Amex Membership Rewards catalog , and it looks like it's a 1:1 exchange rate to Krisflyer miles. Perhaps I'll stick with MR for the time being until I figure out another alternative.

Seems strange that USA AMEX only offers 1:1 for Krysfler when Australian AMEX offers 1.5:1 for AMEX and 1:1 for Visa and our dollar is worth 90 cents US.

they need more usa credit cards to earn miles.

Diners would be a good choice.
