Saver 1st Class awards on refitted B777-300A

On flights to Shanghai from Jan 2010, SQ 830/833 & SQ 836/825 have the new 1st and medium-haul Biz class seats. Called SIA reservations to confirm this by comparing seatmaps. However, Saver 1st class awards are available. I tried other months like Feb 2010 to May 2010, Saver 1st class awards are also available and the seatmaps are B777-300A.

But when I try to redeem on dates from Jan 2010 onwards, SQ 231/232, SQ 219/220, SQ 454/453, SQ 490/491, SQ 494/495 which are on B777-300A, 1st class saver awards are not offered. If you try Nov or Dec 2009 dates, 1st class saver awards are available, because they are still using the old B777-300.

Could the Shanghai 1st Class saver awards on B777-300A be a system error?

I meant I called SIA reservations to check the seat configuration, if its 18 seater or 8 seater in 1st class.

Only for SIN-Shanghai flights, 1st class saver awards are available on the B777-300A, which has the same seats as those found on the B777-300ER. From early Jan 2010 onwards SQ830/833 will use B777-300A and from late Jan 2010 onwards, SQ 836/825 will also use B777-300A.

Miles required are 40375 for 1 way and 80750 return. (after 15% discount for online redemption).

For the rest, SQ 231/232, SQ 219/220, SQ 454/453, SQ 490/491, SQ 494/495, 1st saver are not available even though the are also B777-300A, only standard awards available, but Business Class saver are available on these flights.

It's a no-win situation. This thread will alert the SQ lurkers even if he did not call SQ.

I find these hysterical reactions pathetic. SQTalk should publish loopholes and SQ can fix them as they please - or look into revisions as many flyers like certain changes/enhancements.

I am sure everyone is aware that KrisFlyer will be restructured and that might include Saver Awards on F in 77A as SQ has to give more awards to Star Alliance with all 747 being phased out.
