Booking multi-city KF redemption flights

Does anyone knows how to book KF redemption flights whereby the desination on the going sector is different from the returning sector?

For example, if I try to redeem F from JKT to Shanghai, that's easy, just input on line on krisflyer.com.

But what I actually want to redeem is :

Departure Date : JKT -> SIN -> PVG (Shanghai)
Return Date : HK -> SIN -> JKT

That's bec I want to spend my weekend in HK ( will book a separate KA flight from PVG -> HK ). I know it's possible if doing redemption upgrade but as a fully redeem ticket, seems not possible online. There's no option for Multi-city.

Yes, I know can call SQ Krisflyer but it always take ages to wait for someone on the other line to respond.

You could try 2 separate redemption bookings, one for JKT-SIN-PVG, and one for HK-SIN-JKT.

Just in case you don't already know - one way bookings are charged 50% the required miles of return redemption booking of the same class (unlike some other FFPs that charge 70% for one ways). Thus you will not end up losing out by booking two one ways.

If you call KF and make an offline booking, you can get CGK-SIN-PVG-HKG-SIN-CGK.... no need to book or pay additional ticket for PVG-HKG.... you can have stopover at PVG and HKG too....

Are you sure? With which airline? I don't think SQ flies PVG -> HK

BTW, it's near impossible to get thru the Krisflyer call centre without waiting for ages.

It's not SQ, but FM (Shanghai Airlines) who flies 4 times a day PVG-HKG...
You can call KF asking for Star Alliance redemption booking...
For CGK-SIN-PVG you can use SQ, PVG-HKG use FM, HKG-SIN-CGK with SQ again.
For me, waiting for KF pick up my call worth the ticket PVG-HKG (especially on Biz class)....

I see. Thanks for the suggestion :-) But honestly, no way I will fly mainland airlines unless I really have no choice. Consistent bad experience.

You won't get online booking discount though if booked via phone.

Cannot agree with your views re mainland airlines.
