I applied online to have an exisiting Westpac card transfered to KF Plat and that was instantly approved.

My cards arrived in yesterday's mail and the letter which they were stuck to clearly states that I get the 10k bonus miles. So Fingers crossed for you, but I would think you would too.

Did you use the switch form online, or did you make new applications for the Krisflyer cards on top of your existing Earth/Altitude/etc cards?

If you made a new application, you'd get the promo miles.

If you've simply switched over from an existing Westpac card, it says here on the switch form under s3:
Note: To switch to a Gold card, you must currently have a $5,000 or more limit on your existing
card. To switch to a Platinum card, you must currently have an $8,000 or more limit on your
existing card. By switching from an existing Westpac credit card you are not entitled to receive
any promotional KrisFlyer miles on the first purchase made with your new Gold or Platinum card.

I 'switched' from an existing card, but I didn't use that form, I used the online tool in internet banking...

I just had a look at the letter the cards came stuck to and the full terms of service booklet and I can't see any reference to that condition, so I potentially would have a reasonable recourse to complain if they aren't credited, although either way it shall be interesting come statement time...

Sounds like you've got pretty good legs to stand on should the promo miles not post, especially rasmus - I hope you got the name of the consultant. I'm also surprised he didn't nudge you into making a fresh application anyway, as IIRC they're paid commissions for successful applications.

If true (i've yet to look) I'm surprised the online switch tool makes no mention of the exclusion.

That's a relief! Sorry for alarming you unnecessarily!

                      Wow, that was really quick.

Can I ask when you got your cards, when you first used them, and how long did it take for the miles to credit into your account?

I'm sure I read that the 10k miles will be credited straight after using either card for the first time. I got mine yesterday and used it straight away, just wondering how long it takes for the miles to appear in my account.

                      Thanks.

                      SQ238.

It can take up to 45 days for promo miles to be credited, after the first transaction posts.

                          Thanks KeithMel,

Yes, that is what I read also.

I was suprised there was any chance it would only take a few days to credit.

There will obviously be some time lag between points appearing on your Westpac card statement and being credited to your KF account (especially in the first cycle I would imagine)

                              Phew!

That was quick... Does the new card inherit the old card's statement cycle?

Just had my first billing cycle.

10K bonus points posted. Note that I switched from my Altitude Crad and this was done over the phone witha banking rep who promised that I would get the points.
