  • KF bookings going missing ?

    Slightly strange one this. Last week I made a KF redemption booking on line, the first one I have done in a long time as I am burning what miles I have left.

    The first flight was waitlisted and despite the system saying it would SMS when it clears I had been checking it. Yesterday I got an SMS saying it expires on Sunday so please confirm, but when I logged on it was still waitlisted.

    This morning I had no SMS telling me it had cleared but I logged on just before leaving for the office and surprisingly it was showing as cleared and asking me to confirm the booking. Excellent I thought, I'll book that when I get to the office. So I logged on when I got to the office, and the booking had disappeared.

    I cleared everything and logged on a few times but it had gone!. So I called KF and they confirmed the booking was still there and they could see it, and when I told them it had disappeared for me when I log on they said that it's a system glitch that happens quite regularly.

    Has anyone else had KF redemption bookings disappearing ?

    A couple of weeks ago I made a few redemption bookings (on SilkAir), one using our daughter's account for herself and my wife; one using our 2nd daughter's account for herself; and using my own account for myself and 3rd daughter. We all have our redemption nominees properly setup including the Krisflyer details. When I booked, I selected the redemption nominees and completed and checked all the details.

    When I checked my account a few days later, I could see the booking for myself and our 3rd daughter. But when I checked our 3rd daughter's account, there was nothing...

    I then returned to my own account and took a closer look. I found out that the KF number of our daughter was missing. So that explains why I could not see the booking in her account. I am 100% sure that the KF number was showing when I made the booking. So it must have disappeared somewhere... The other two bookings (including the one with my wife as nominee) had no issues at all.

    I called Krisflyer and they said it must be a system glitch....

    So you can try to retrieve the booking using your name and PNR or e-ticket number. If you can retrieve it, your KF number may have disappeared as well...

      i have a current redemption booking as well. received confirmation from krisfler via email. when i go online to choose a seat and meal it states that PNR does not exist....

      strange.....i'll have to call KF tomorrow.

        Not sure if it's a system glitch - but I've had this happen to me before with waitlisted redemption bookings.

        The waitlist was cleared and after reading the email I clicked on the link provided to proceed with the booking (not thinking at the time that if the funds required exceeded the funds available would result in the booking being lost).

        So I closed the window and waited for the appropriate time (a few days later when funds were available). The booking had appeared to have been auto-cancelled (as after I read some T&C's it became clear this would be the appropriate angle KF would follow) - but not to worry, a quick and what turned out to be an effortless call to KF quickly rectified the problem and I was ticketed at the same redemption rate with applicable taxes and such..

        A small exchange rate error was rectified also quickly upon question as well... And hence restoring my faith in the call centre setup...
