I think mileage accrual is only available for 'E' class tickets and above for Y class, or what is called the "Flexi" on the website.

If you are booking on the SQ website, it makes it very clear that promotional fares are non-mileage accruable. Annoying, yes, but no different to the cheapest fares on almost every other airline in Europe and Asia

To make it accruable, just click on the Flexi Saver tab (instead of the Super Deals tab). Get miles for a additional GBP60-70 or so - pretty reasonable, no?

Those are the upgradeable fares. Mileage accrual starts in lower fare buckets. V, though, is one of the non-mileage-accruing classes.

I hope this is the right thread.
I am trying to book some tickets to HKG via SIN for a trip in April/May - but I notice the ticket is "V" which I think is non-miles accruable.

Buy into a higher fare bucket (i.e. pay more) to "get it mileage accruable". Simple. And it's only reasonable. (and that's the purpose - get you to pay more unnecessarily by getting you obsessed with collecting miles that are daily being devalued)

At the rate at which KF miles have been devalued, you're essentially paying for the status benefits during the following year's regular travel: priority checkin, priority boarding, lounge access, etc. Less useful at Changi, but still quite useful at many airports.

From what 9V-JKL has posted, KF miles remain good currency for redemptions with SQ's Northeast Asian partners.
