  • SQ*S, SQ*P what do they mean?

I saw SQ*S printed on my Lufthansa boarding pass and SQ*P printed on my boss' boarding pass - what do they mean?

  • #2
*S = Star Alliance Silver, e.g. KrisFlyer Elite Silver.

Not sure about *P unless you misread *G.

IIRC I have seen "SQP" on my boarding pass. I thought it means something like SQ Premium passenger? Like the way SQ booking printouts say "STAR PREMIUM PASSENGER" . I am talking about the booking we get from SQ offices - those showing weird codes like SSRSTVHK etc.

If memory serves, I had this before when I was not BD elite ie a lowly Blue. I have my BPs at home. Maybe I'll go double check.

Can't remember what SSRSTVHK stands for but IIRC, 'V' is used for premium seat blocking in Lufthansa. ...So, if the same reasoning consistent alliance wide coding applies....So, I guess STV could mean Star Alliance premium.

It was not a valid code I typed...

Yes that's correct. If you have no status then *P will appear on your boarding pass.

When I first flew SQ I had no status with any airline and credited my SQ flights to my VS Flying Club account. My BPs had "VSP" printed on them (no * because VS are not part of Star Alliance).

hmm. so if i understand correctly, *P can mean either *Premium, *Priority, or *Peanut?

if it's the last, might as well leave it blank right?

Can't be premium or priority as the lowest scum levels does not get you anything.

                  Jesting aside, methinks it's 'passenger'.

*P is what LH shows for non-status (but has a *A FFP number entered). IMO it is useful showing it as you can spot if the card number of FFP code has been entered wrong.

Thank you for the info. I've never had KF Blue when taking LH, or even lowly BD. Thus never seen *P on my LH BP.

Whilst my upcoming LH flights are award, they have my (base level) BD number associated with them - will be able to observe if I get the *P on my BP

It might not appear since it's an award. I checked my old BPs when using BD miles. And no notation at all on my BP being BD Gold.
